I think it might be your thing.I was (and am) infatuated with his writing. And all of your list (Irving, Dickens and Bulgakov) reminds me of Robertson Davies, so this is one of those recs I feel very likely it will be a hit. (if you read it and remember to post again on this rec, I would love to know what you think)
I am definitely going to read it. Those are my top 3 authors so this sounds like a pretty perfect recommendation - thank you for taking the time to suggest it and I will let you know what I think.
