Eva Thanks a lot! I forgot that it's on my bookshelf already and carries "Prague" even in its title :)

Campbell You're most welcome :)

Eva Have you read it? I was just scanning the blurb and always read "Paris". Maybe it's just the title ... Anyway, it just moved up on my to-read pile

Campbell I confess I have not read this particular work of his, although I have (and can recommend) Foucault's Pendulum and The Name of the Rose. Neither are particularly easy, but are worth the effort. In the interests of full disclosure I have also read The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana but didn't like that so much.

Eva I already own many of his books and have equally many on my wishlist still, but I, too, have (only) read The Name of the Rose so far, which was back at university and I found it quite exhausting and a burden then (and preferred the movie), but have been wanting to re-read it for a while, yet there's all his other books, which I think aren't easy reads all of them. Anyhow, in preparation for a trip to Prague I'll try said book first to see how much "Prague" is actually in it

Campbell I did start to read it, and if I remember correctly (it was about 10 years ago, give or take a couple) I quickly got bogged down in the details of historical politics and lost interest. Maybe now that I'm older and (allegedly) wiser I might fare better. I'll be interested to see how you get on with it.

Rosemarie This book is mostly set in Paris and is a crazy, enjoyable read. The Prague Cemetery refers to The Protocol of the Elders of Zion.
