"Born Wicked" is indeed a bit more centered around the magic element than the romantic.
I checked out the books you mentioned. Not really interested in "Breaking the Silence" but "The Ghost and the Goth" seems alright. I'll try it out.
I also think "the Hunger Games" have that insecurity from Peeta's side but I see you've already read that. By the way you should read the second book as well, it was as good as the first, maybe even better!

I had a look through my books and the closest I´ve come to my request is The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade but I wanted something a bit more mature and less supernatural :)
Another close one is Breaking the Silence by Katie Allen. Its a bit on the erotic side and the guy is definately described as gorgeous even though he doesnt have that much confidence and she seems average.
