Seraphina by Rachel Hartman!! The books have a comparable quality of writing and world-building, female protagonists who are introspective, sensitive, kind, intelligent, and talented. There is budding romance, but the books aren't focused on it all the time, and there's never any questionable behavior. They're both emotionally complex and realistic, with a similar amount of fantasy surrounding that emotional core, though in Songbird, it's trolls/fae and in Seraphina it's dragons. I am 99% sure you'll love it since you had the good taste to single out Stolen Songbird :)
Thank u for the thorough explanation! I wasn't
Sure if I wanted to read Seraphina but this sure makes
Me want to! :)
