The Road to Jonestown (a pretty thorough history of Jim Jones and the early days of the Peoples Temple, all the way to the end and the aftermath). Dead Wake by Erik Larson reads basically like fiction, and focuses a lot on the factors leading into the sinking of the Lucitania.
