Mark, I just finished the killing floor last week..- what i like about the character is that he is like the old James Bond ( Sean Connery) very spontaneous and mysterious; with the effect that the reader is unable to predict what his next action would be. In case you are used to thinking about plots ahead, "Jack Reacher " somehow doesn't allow you do that.
The novel is simple; short sentences almost like a cross between a wild west and a Mack Bolan aka Executioner(Don Pendleton )book...good luck...
PS- you might finish the book sooner than expected
