Yes, I have also heard that 'On Writing' is meant to be very good, I just don't know where to begin! Thanks!
i would start with revival his new one
Try some of his short story collections. Like nightmares and dreamscapes or skeleton crew. Besides the Dark Tower series most of the stuff is just stand alone horror anyway .if you want a long epic self-contained story start with IT,or Salem's Lot. Whith Stephen King you could pretty much just pick up any one of his stand-alone horror books and you're good to go .but if you just want to get used to his style try one of his short story collections . I hope my answer helps.sorry if it was a bit broad.
I appreciate that this was some years ago. Try his books of short stories, which tend to be very good. I have read a couple of his novels. Really Like Salem's Lot (as I have a vampire fixation). Everyone says IT is the best, but as it is huge, perhaps one for a read along!!! did you try any?
