Aiden's parents were sitting on the front porch when he pulled into the driveway.
"Can I take the car?" he asked after they'd unloaded everything into the house.
"What do you think?" his mother said with a sigh.
"You let me take it to the store," Aiden argued.
"Yeah, that probably wasn't the smartest parental choice. It's the law, Aiden."
Aiden daydreamed about when he'd get his actual lisence.
"Fine, I'll ride my bike."
"Where are you going?"
"I don't know, just riding around." He didn't even know what there was to do here.
"OK, don't get lost. And make some friends!" she called after him.
