The What on Earth Wall Book ... don't take your time travel machine into the past (or write your backward-in-time-traveling novel) without it!

I just stumbled upon this really great wall poster of earth timeline events. This is definitely a must-have. I like how it even charts the drifting of the continents along with the whats and whos and whens of natural history and civilization's history.

Oh I met this guy in a book literary festival in Oxford. He was doing shows all day to a kiddies audience and might have seen that same wall chart. I ended up buying a signed copy of his What on Earth Happened book solely on his exuberant presentation. Its a brilliant childrens pictorial history from 13.7 billion years ago to present day. He is quite the entertainer with an obvious flair for the colourful theatrics in his presentation. Some people do criticise him for being slyly seducing to educating children of his own biased world opinions and giving myths as facts which may not be so beneficial to children. They maybe right but heck, the book is very enjoyable and if one wishes to explore the facts can investigate further in other works.

Here are a couple more:
*The HISTOMAP: Four Thousand Years of World History (Relative Power of Contemporary States, Nations and Empires) - http://www.slate.com/features/2013/08...
*The HISTOMAP of EVOLUTION: Earth, Life and Mankind for Ten Thousand Million Years - http://www.m4a3.com/pictures/arfcom/H...

I'd love to have one of these and place a "You Are Here" marker in our little teeny tiny speck of existence for full effect.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Is this a 'book' that should have an entry in the GR database? I can't find it....

Those charts are really cool, Amy. At first I thought there were more charts by Christopher LLoyd but I just realise its someone else.

In answer to Chery, I dont think they're technically books but I found this entry on Amazon.com books section where you can buy a used chart for $987!!

There seems to be some degree of controversy over the depiction of history by the some of the reviewers though but hell if I can analyse it, it just looks cool!
