Tae-gyung Yoo | 2 comments I read "Catcher in the Rye" over this summer. I selected this book because it was about a teenager boy around my age overcoming hardships, and also this was a book that my dad highly recommended to me. What I liked the most about this book was that there were many parts that I sympathized with, especially the difficulties that the main caharacter "Holden" had to go throgh. For example, the tragedy of his brother's death, who he admired a lot as sort of mentor and his struggle at school. I recommend this book to the teenagers who are having a hardtime. Because to me this book made me think what I should do inorder to solve my diffcuties!

I changed some how I started going to church more often and I also helped my uncle over the summer with his fundraising to make money to help build a school for kids in south Sudan.

Nai Syde | 2 comments I read " I am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced" and selected it because it was about a very young Yemeni heroine and interested the way how she was very brave for her freedom. I liked the most thing about this book was that there was a very strong her quote which is “ I have learned to say 'Yes' to everything. Today I have decided to say 'No'". I would recommend this book to all young girls, especially those who are in Islamic countries, to say "No" if you do not agree and not say "Yes" to everything.:)

This stories book was selected by someone special whom stay up every night consoling me. I was wondering why did he required me to read ''Hope''. At fist i didn't want to spend my time on it because it has 3309 pages and it's an online reading. But when i started to read '' Hope'' I was surprised that i am related to it. I've learn that the risk is in every decision so never give up.I would recommend ''Hope'' for everyone who has lost there hope, who don't believe themselves,to the one who can't find love and to the one whom feel like giving up on their dreams. Angelica Molina | 4 comments I read the book " Muchacho". Muchacho is the story of Eddi Corazon, a Hispanic high school student living in New Mexico. He's going to the alternative school,He shoulders a tough guy exterior, but maintains a secret love for reading. Eddie's life could go on two distinctive paths: down the road towards juvenile delinquency, or towards graduation and a "better life."
His parents Mami and Papi push his to get his high school diploma, and his teachers Ms. Beecher and Mr. Mcelroy try to broaden his mind.Eddie begins to "see the light" when he meets Lupe,She pushes him to be a writer and enjoys reading his secret poetry. I enjoy reading this book for many reasons, one of them is that the story is very familiar to me, because as Hispanic, I understand how difficult it is for the Hispanic students continue studying and not fall into bad ways, as are the gangs, and stuff like that.
