That people are so tied to the 'parties' that they dont pay attention to the real issues and possible solutions and weigh the pros/cons.

Once you belong to a party you start to have to compromise on your principles; and then the longer the party is in power the more that power corrupts. Floating voters then vote the opposition party in at some future election and the process begins again.
But is there a viable alternative that allows for fairness and social justice, let alone all those global issues that domestic politics tend to brush aside?
