30.7 - Pamela3265's task: Celebrating Summer
Two questions for you:1) Is this enough of a bouquet for Option 1 or should you be able to see more/the bottom of it?
2) Are flowers in general okay for Option 4? I know we always have a couple barns filled with flowers/gardening expos at our fairs.
This is what I'm looking at specifically--
Fun task! Thank you!
Donna wrote: "Would this count for a wedding dress or part of the cake?
"You can see that this is the top of the cake. Approved.
Lauren wrote: "Would this work for option 1?
"Approved: The title makes it obvious this is a wedding dress.
Please verify this qualifies for Option 1 - "church"
(It's in the background ... but the steeple rises above the town)

Suzanne wrote: "Would an elephant be too big for a county fair? It's been a long while since I've been to one."Sorry, I haven't seen an elephant at a county fair or even a state fair.
Reposting coz I think msg 23 got lost in the shuffle.Would this church spire do for Option 1?
It's a lot less fuzzy out of thumbnail form - even the main page medium thumbnail shows it quite clearly.

Sorry about the delay. Looks like a steeple to me.

♥! adding to tbr list now.
For option 4, would the kind of things you find at a country fair include pies and (non-wedding) cakes? Also, what about this?
- as well as the goose, there's quilting round the side, and a quilt in the water

I've seen geese at the county fair so Goose in the Pond works.
Amanda Pearl wrote: "Would this work for a veil?
"Sorry it doesn't look like a bridal veil to me. There wasn't anything in the description that indicated the cover was related to a wedding or bride either.
Book Concierge wrote: "Confirm that this is a wedding dress (and looks like a bouquet in the lower left corner, too)
"Confirmed for dress and bouquet.

ahh got it, I missed the "wedding" part!
Would this one be okay for Option 4? I'm thinking along the lines of the knitting booths with gloves and little handmade things on them, but not sure if this particular cover is okay since it's so...wintery lol
Thank you again!

Those look similar to a pair of mittens someone hand-knitted for me. Approved! On a side note, I approved the same book for winter apparel during the last Winter Challenge.
How about this for Option 4. There's what I think is a handy plate of cheese on the cover,
along with a rather nice quilt, which I'm guessing could count as a handicraft.

Thanks!"
My county fair has lots of homegrown fruits as well; pears work.

This task will feature some of the fun events that traditionally take place during the summer months.
This is a 2 book task. Choose 2 different options below and read a book for each option.
Option 1 – June Wedding: I will be travelling to attend the wedding of one of my closest cousins. Since June is a popular month for weddings, read a book with a wedding dress/veil, wedding cake, church (or other religious building such as a mosque or synagogue), or a floral bouquet on the cover. Required: Include the cover when you post and, if it's not obvious, identify the wedding-related object.
Option 2 – Family Reunion: I have several family reunions scheduled for this summer. For this option, read a book whose authors initials can be found in the word REUNION. Letters may be used as many times as they are found in REUNION. Middle initials may be ignored.
Option 3 –Vacation: I will be joining members of my extended family for a week-long vacation in the mountains. For this option, read a book set in a place you would like to go on vacation. Required: Identify where you would like to go on vacation.
Option 4 – County Fair Time: My family enjoys visiting the county fair to enjoy “fair food” and look at the exhibits. For this option, read a book with an object on the cover you would expect to find exhibited at a county fair such as fresh produce, farm animals, handcrafts, art, etc. Required: Include the cover when you post and, if it's not obvious, identify the county fair object.
