Let's talked Mafia and other organised crime novels. What's good out there and what do you look for in a novel like this.

Organised crime? Heist novels would count right? Or do you just mean gangland stuff?

Don Winslow gets my vote, his criminals are very organised. From Chon and O and Ben in Savages to Frankie Machine in The Winter of Frankie Machine he knows his stuff and excites throughout.

Clean Break was a Kubrick movie about a heist.

Heist stuff would count.
