I'll go ahead and suggest a Gillian Flynn since she's so popular on ONTD right now...her book Sharp Objects is on sale at target right now so I picked that up:
I'm going to throw Divergent by Veronica Roth into the mix. Another book that keeps getting pushed down on my to-read list because I'm on a reader list for the 6-8 grade reader Missouri book award. I figure if I have others reading it with me I'll be more likely to finish it.
I really like I Am Not A Serial Killer, it's rare to find Paranormal Horror YA that's actually good and engaging.

How about The Master and Margarita - by Mikhail Bulgakov? Just started reading it and it's really good so far. The woman who translated it did a fantastic job.
White Teeth because it was a quarter and is supposed to be one of those books that changes your life. Or something like that.
Or for the snark read...
Between You and Me: A Novel because apparently it massively rips off Britney's meltdown.

Good suggestions, I like them all, several are on my 'to read' list. I just read Divergent (and Insurgent) and really enjoyed them. I'm going to suggest Frankenstein again. Also, there's no non-fictions suggestion, so I'll throw in a few:
* Londoners: The Days and Nights of London Now--As Told by Those Who Love It, Hate It, Live It, Left It, and Long for It (because I keep seeing this everywhere)
* Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
* and The Mitfords: Letters between Six Sisters as a not-entirely-to-be-taken-seriously suggestion as it's massive and not available as an ebook (as far as I know), but I've wanted to read it for ages.
Seconding Gone Girl; that's also on my to-read list. But it's going to be hard for me to get into something new right now after just finishing His Dark Materials (I'm still recovering, tbh). I'm about to tackle Paradise Lost.
Insurgent by Veronica Roth as a snark read. Something by Gillian Flynn for fiction or this new YA novel Every Day by David Levinthan that I saw was getting some positive reviews.
Basically, some easy reads for those of us bogged down with schoolwork/work in general in September, womp womp.
Haha, finally people want to read Gone Girl. I fourth that nomination (again) since I'm 70% done with it right now. ;)I also want to see your reactions. I'll be here for hand-holding.
agreeing with gone girl, just finished it and enjoyed it a lot. i'm going to second the master and margarita. have been wanting to read that for a while.
If it's not too late, I've seen 'The Glimpse' being snarked about lately.I'd also throw in a vote for Gone Girl. :3
i think i'm honestly too run down right now to bother making three different polls and we don't have a large amount for each category so right now i'm just going to make the poll for general ficiton. if one of the other mods wants to make the other polls they can but i don't think there's enough to vote on to justify three different book categories
