I'm planning to read 1800 e-book pages for this challenge...that's 60 pages per day on average..here's what i am planning to read...1. Architecture Theory Since 1968
2. Body and Building: Essays on the Changing Relation of Body and Architecture
3. Nurturing Dreams: Collected Essays on Architecture and the City
4. Architecture from the Outside: Essays on Virtual and Real Space
5. i have the e-book but haven't added it for the goodreads database: Bauliana: Worshipping the Great God Within]
i am so excited for the challenge..the books i've picked are a part of a research project i have been procrastinating on for a long time..so am super-excited..i'll be borrowing my dad's kindle he got as a present from my big brother-in-law..getting all buckled up converting the e-books in kindle version... :D:D:D can't wait to start...i feel like we are entering another read-a-thon...
cheers people... \m/
Of the books I'm reading in September for various groups and challenges, there is only one I don't already own that is also available for Kindle (and part of my library's Kindle Lending program) - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. So that's what I'll be reading. :)Edit to add: I just discovered that my library has another of my September reads in Kindle format - Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters - so I'll be reading that ebook, as well.
Woah go Lilaboti! That's a lot of reading! At least 1800 pages on a kindle will be much easier to read. :)
I've downloaded many books, BUT have yet to read through an entire one! I've owned my Nook since the beginning of New Year 2012, but am still preferring turning actual pages or (on) my car CD player! Now that I've been challenged I'll have to pick one to report on ... ;o)
*high five* lilaboti :)
I'm reading Persuasion right now on my kindle. It's been on my TBR for a few years...maybe 2005....but I'm almost done! It's pretty good.

wow..2005?? superb...!! i am reading an anthology of theorists work in the field of architecture..and it's so interesting! when you look close, you'll find that things like art, philosophy, physics, architecture, meditation, nature and such in our lives to be very much interwoven and separated by only thin lines...maybe jargon..anyway...hoping to read more and more updates from the fellow group mates who are doing this challenge...for me..it's about feeling good about myself too...

I'd never thought of that before and I'll bet it's so true. Keep me updated on your progress!

I have plenty of classics I've already downloaded for free on my kindle, and haven't read a single one. I'm not sure where to start... anyone have suggestions?
I got about 500 ebooks waiting to be read right now..Plus about a hundred I already read but kept the copies just the same..
I am still reading A Clash of Kings by George RR Martin and I definitely love the book!
Since I cannot read just one book as I easily get bored (unless it is really that GREAT), I also got A Wizard of Earthsea plus that Fifty Shades of Grey I am putting off until I dunno- maybe before that movie premiere..
I plan to read the rest of the books in A Song of Fire and Ice this month..
:)
Marie, that's impressive!! I must aim to be more like you ;D
I'm reading Robinson Crusoe on my ebook at the moment, also a dusty ;D Think may have a few ebooks before going for a paper book again, try to do a clear out :)

Maybe Oliver by Dickens or The Hound of the Baskervilles (if that is considered a "classic").
Question? What makes a "classic"?
I plan on reading(kindle) The Peach Keeper from overdrive through my library. The book has to be read by the 14th. I better start crackin'.
Liz: Some of the classics I have are The Time Machine, Utopia, Beautiful and the Damned,The Secret Garden, Arabian Nights, The Raven, Through the Looking Glass... etc. They're basically the free books through Amazon that would actually be read.. hopefully :P
I'm reading The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett which I have had in my Nook since I bought it last fall. I originally purchased my Nook for a family cruise with my in-laws over Christmas. I bought the basic eInk reader without backlighting because I knew I would be reading in bright sunlight. I have gotten much more use out of my Nook than I thought I would. I have purchased far too many books, and downloaded plenty of "B&N Free Friday nook books" and Library books. I would NOT want to read a textbook on my Nook, but reading George R R Martin's tomes on my nook was WONDERFUL!
I have a lot of books for my kindle. Mostly freebies. I really want to re-read The Animorphs #1. K. A. Applegate released the first 8 books for kindle and after I read one I'll buy the next. I also borrowed A Game of Thrones. I may have to renew that one. Very long.
Chimney wrote: "If I can find the time, as I want to reread The Perks of Being a Wallflower before the movie comes out, I think I will try to read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."chimney... i also wanted to re-read Alice in wonderland..some time soon..let me know if you want to buddy read it...
...and jess...i am super excited and happy to see more and more people joining the challenge... great one..thanks once again...

I'll take that as a compliment Hayley..
However, I seriously need to put off some of my books right now as eye strain distracts me a lot from meeting my deadline at work during the day..
Still hoping to finish all those books by George RR Martin before the month ends though..
Marie, of course it was a compliment ;D But maybe your eyes need to be informed to suffer from eye strain less so as not to distract from the bigger picture, you should have words with them ;P

Oooh, good luck!! I'll be rooting for you, even though I've yet to pick up the second book (so many more are in line before it :O)

Almost done with this one. I'm only about 11% left to go on The Emperor's Edge by Lindsay Buroker. Reading it on my Kindle. SO good!
So far feeling very disappointed in Robinson Crusoe - I get it's a first novel, and has withstood the test of time but I, personally, have no idea how :( It's just not made me feel anything at all or even gripped me to where I want to pick it up for any reason other than to finish it... which is a shame I know :(
Hayley wrote: "Oooh, good luck!! I wish you all the best in your endeavors!

Awful. Blue Shoe and another that will remain unnamed since I got it for free on goodreads first reads and feel bad for the guy. But uck!
April Lyn: The Tender Bar by J.R. Moehringer is 1.99 or else Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut is 3.99. Both excellent.
April Lyn wrote: "Does anyone have a good e-book to recommend? Preferably cheap or free for kindle?"April, check out "Books on the Knob" which arrives daily by email with lots of free or cheap downloads for Kindle ... unfortunately, I have a Nook Color and that website tends to lean toward the Amazon ebook!
wow you guys... ermmm..i am reading three of the e-books altogether at the moment..i can hardly stay on one book..hopefully i'll finish them all at the same time too...but i'm definitely having a great time with swapping between the books as they are all very interwoven subject-wise...
i am finished with Architecture from the Outside: Essays on Virtual and Real Space and Bauliana: Worshipping the Great God in Man.. the latter is a 40 pages..since i'm reading for research purpose..i have to do a lot of reading in-between from here and there and keep notes.. but it's fun in the end... i already have so many ideas...!!!i am planning to write about my reading experience this weekend and maybe about the challenge at the end of the month...if i do..will you guys read it..???
For once, I am reading a book the old-fashioned paperback way, My Cousin Rachel My Cousin Rachel. I may have to finish David Copperfield David Copperfield on e-book because my audio book has a glitch on the 24th (!!!) disc.
