Elisa walked inside and quickly taking a book, she sat down on the floor leaning on the bookshelf behind her.

Emily Meg shuffled into the bookstore and took a deep breath in. The strong smell of paper and coffee invaded her nose. She needed an escape and this was the place to go. Meg climbed the stairs and found her hiding place, a small space created by a bookshelf and a wall. She wedged herself in and pulled her iPod out of her bag. Turning the volume up as loud as it could go, Meg closed her eyes and became lost in the music.

Elisa flipped through it earching for familiar words of romance. When she didn't find any, she sighed and put the book back taking another one.

Emily Once she went through her entire playlist, Meg reluctantly took out her earbuds. Meg glanced down at the time, just a little after lunch. She still didn't want to go home. Well, she thought, I'm in a bookstore, might as well read. She stood up and wandered over to a random bookshelf. Scanning the spines of the books, she found one that looked a little interesting and pulled it off the shelf. Settling into her corner, Meg opened the book and started to read.

Cecilia (cecilia-reads) Hadley walked in, looking around at the books. She picked one up and read the back.

Emily Suddenly, Meg's phone began to buzz. She checked the caller ID. It was her mom. Great. She groaned inwardly. She accepted the call. "Yeah?" She whispered into the phone. Her mom spent a few minutes yelling at her about how she was supposed to be home an hour ago and yadda yadda yadda. Meg zoned out about halfway through her jabbering. "Yeah...k... yes mom... Mom, I know! K, fine!" She whisper-yelled into her phone before hanging up on her still yelling mother. She collected her things and headed for the check-out desk. She usually didn't read, but this book looked kinda interesting. Plus, she needed an excuse to not go by her mom. She collected her things and left.
