Dragons, dragons and-you guessed it, dragons! discussion

Hello to all those dragon lovers out there!

Hi! I am Lucinda,

I would firstly like to thank Althea for sending me an invitation to her unique group, that looks and sounds truly origonal hence i am looking forward to many enjoyable discussions.

I am a huge fan of Dragons and think that they are the most facinating of creatures, who have been represented in so many ways through fantasy and other types of fiction, films and myths & legends. When it comes to literature Stephen Deas, Christopher Paolini, JD Hallowell and many others spring to mind as memorable representations of this magnificent beast; who can weild magic, or be ridden or breathe fire. As to films once again many spring to mind that portray Dragons as fearsome beasts that roam the skies and are protectors of great treasure (i.e Smaug in the Hobbit).

Once again i would like to thank you for letting me be a part of this group and i look forward to many interesting discussions, the study of Dragonology, Roleplays and mythical memories that are brought to life.

I have herd of a series called 'Dragonlance' which is supposed to be good, and there are a lot of books to collect. It is something that is definately on my to-read list.

Hi everybody! I'm Cassie.
I've always found dragons fascinating, I got very excited when I found this group dedicated to them...about 5 minutes ago...I haven't read a lot of dragon books, but I'd love suggestions...(however, at the moment there are about 45 books on my to-read list, and that's just the ones I've added to Goodreads, so I won't be able to read many suggestions for a while...unless it sounds really exciting...)

I can't believe i came upon a group of Dragon lovers. Totally extraordinary! I thought only the Chinese appreciated the fire-breathing creatures. Living in Hong Kong, it is really fun to watch the Dragon Boat Festival and also the Dragon dances in the parades. This is how i have come to love Dragons so much. i would love to read anything to learn more about them!

P.S- One of my brothers lives in Hong Kong, he has been made a citizen, married a chinease girl and had a baby boy (i am an aunty!). I would love to visit him one day, as he lives a most exciting lifestyle that is very different to here in the United Kingdom.

A confession, most of my favorite books have dragons in them, and I always feel really sad if dragons get killed(even when they are evil). I can't wait to know everyone a little better.

Thank you Luncida. I will definitely enjoy the discussions and would love to be part of them.i really the like the lessons on Dragons. they are really fascinating. i m actually waiting for lesson 3. However, school just started and probably things are going to start getting busy. but i will check out this group whenever i m free!:)

Hello, I found this group via a search for fantasy groups ... love the name by the way. This caught my attention because I'm an author who writes about dragons, specifically a mother-daughter pair, and I'm interested in the perspective dragon fans have on their favorite species.

I also happen to like dragons in general, counting Anne McCaffrey and Terry Goodkind as favorite authors, both of which have dealt in dragon lore.

I am also a huge fan of fantasy fiction and love Terry Goodkind and Anne McCaffrey to name but a few authors, including others who have written much about Dragons. I do hope that you enjoy the various discussions and concider joining the S.A.S.D (Secret Ancient Society of Dragonologists) and enlist on the Dragonology course designed by me!
