Read Across Canada: A 2013 Challenge discussion

Emma Donoghue is an Ontario author. I'd say she's one of the more famous Canadian authors; her book Room was very popular in Maryland, and probably around the US and Canada. Everywhere I went, poeple were talking about it and reading it, and the hold list for Room at the local library was very high, somewhere in the vicinity of 200-300 people who had their name on the waiting list.

Astray, a book of short stories, is Emma Donoghue's latest work.

Melissa, I just checked the date of publication for Astray, and it's October 30, 2012. I must have seen it on the Giveaways/First Reads thread.

Room is very popular in Connecticut too. I just read it for a second time because it was a library book group read this month. Once you get into the book, it's hard to put down because there have been similiar true stories in the news.
