When I read the ending I'm like, "That's it?!?! There has to be another one!" So does anyone know if there will be another one???????

Katie As far as I know, this is the author's first novel. I have no idea if she's planning on a sequel or not. I didn't feel like the book NEEDED a sequel, but I would read it as soon as it came out if there was one!

Tamara Figueroa Does the bad guy die? I want Scarlet to be with Robin

Kat I hope there is a sequel, I mean it was such a unique spin on a story which has been done so often ah it was brilliant, and I would love to find out how the issue with gisbourne is resolved

Hannah I love this book. I read it at least once a month if not more. I love Scarlet, and there better be a sequel. I will be soo angry if there isn't. She and Robin need to be together and Sir Guy of Gisbourne(?) needs to die(for good!!!).

Keely I was browsing the author's website, and her exact words were:

"I can't say for sure if I'll NEVER write another Scarlet story. I love her voice, her friends and her world, so I imagine there's some room for inspiration there!"

There's some hope to hold on to for a sequel.. I'm hoping for more of this fabulous spin on Robin Hood myself..

Bre I don't know about a sequel, I don't think much else can happen, everybody knows who she is so... but she should definitely write another book. Maybe she could use a different fairy tale?

message 20: by Emma (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emma The way the book ended it could have had a sequel but it didn't need one to make sense.

MJ Maybe the author meant to leave so much out in the open. It gives more to think about and it will make you remember the book. I would enjoy a sequel though. :)

MissIntegrity Scarlet should be the one to get Gisbourne

*Will SCARLET have a sequel, or is it a standalone?

"Scarlet was written as a standalone--it's very open ended because though her story ended, the situation in Nottingham certainly didn't. It's also been her challenge all along--to fight against pain and injustice while knowing that these things don't ever really end. They get harder, get easier, and come around again but they never end.

That being said, I always wanted to write more of Scarlet's story. And now I'm going to! SCARLET will have two sequels, and the first one is coming out in Winter 2014. YAY!!"

I found this on the author's website in the FAQ section. Here: http://www.acgaughen.com/faq/ So happy. Love the book!

Hannah I soo hope there will be a sequel! I don't know if I can wait very long.
