I am so very glad I went into this with an open mind. I was mostly curious about it, because I, like so many others, had seen a wild and crazy movie trailer. My general rule tends to lean towards reading books before seeing the movie, and so here we are. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I can guarantee that it will be nothing like the book. It appeals to a completely different audience, hacked and butchered by Hollywood to be more exciting, more bloody, and no doubt, bring in more money. I can't yet speak to how that worked out for them. Has anyone else seen the movie? I'd love to hear how it is, and if I should bother taking time away from books to watch a flick. This book was extraordinary in the amount of research that was done. Absolutely mind blowing! As I was describing it to my mother, however, she was a little shocked. She didn't understand how Lincoln's family could allow defamation of character. Did anyone else feel that this should have been more of an issue?
I read this book & I was a littleapprenhensive at first. Then once I got into the story I thought that it was absolutely awesome. This book completely read like.....could this have really happened?!! Of course, it is a work of fiction but, wow what a work of fiction. Highly Recommend.
