Adriana The Replacement was pretty creepy...
On Goodreads it says that Robert Cormier is a horror writer. His books are very suspenseful and have lots of twists to it. If you want to read messed up books that will keep you on edge I'd recommend him.
Try We All Fall Down by Robert Cormier

Josiah (kenjenningsjeopardy74) The Bumblebee Flies Anyway by Robert Cormier In the Middle of the Night by Robert Cormier I Am the Cheese by Robert Cormier The Rag and Bone Shop (Readers Circle) by Robert Cormier
You could also try The Bumblebee Flies Anyway, In the Middle of the Night, I Am the Cheese or the book that I consider to be Cormier's magnum opus, the posthumously published The Rag and Bone Shop.

I Am The Cheese is horror?

I considered it to be quite horrifying. Not all of Robert Cormier's books would fit the horror category (Other Bells for Us to Ring, 8 Plus 1 and Frenchtown Summer being just a few that don't), but I think of I Am the Cheese as a psychological horror story.

I enjoyed the se YA horror novels, Strange Angels series, Courtney Summer's This is Not a Test, Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) by Lili St. Crow This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers , and Possess Possess by Gretchen McNeil . I really want to read The Replacement and Zombies Don't cry.

And if you like eerie, YA horror, you might even like my novel, Beautifully Broken (Spellbound series, #1) YA Urban Fantasy by Sherry Soule .

But, what makes a book, or rather the storylne, horror, in your opinion?

I can see the psychological part but I still don't see it as horrifying but just greatly.... thriller or suspenseful I guess.

Well it depends on you I guess. I wouldn't classify This Is Not A Test as horror but a zombie book. Zombie books don't exactly strike me as horror but it might for others. It's more action packed and suspenseful.

Horror is more of for me something that would wake you up at night because it was that terrifying or some messed up reads like Cormier likes to do where the situation the main characters are in are absolutely horrifying if you got into them. Welcome Sherry (:

Adriana I don't know if you would consider this horror but I thought this book had some dark themes to it:
Last Night I Sang to the Monster by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
