I JUST FINISHED THE BOOK, AND I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU ALL THINK. IT'S A GOOD READ IN SPITE OF ITS SOMETIME PREDICTABILITY. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE TWO SISTERS AND THEIR APPROACHES TO LIFE?

Cheryl - Good pick! Are you okay? You were the mad canner last year and I've been canning like crazy this year. Hope you are doing well.

I really did like your pick. I was reading somewhere about this book and they said it was real epicy. It was pretty good to me as the main character lived the whole book. Makes a difference to me. You asked about the sisters. Weren't they a hoot. Maturity served them well. I like Maire SO much better when was older than younger. Honora seemed to be the stable one through the book and Maire not so much. I found this book a little predictable, but wasn't reading it with that in mind so I wasn't really looking for it and really did enjoy it! JUST LONG VERY LONG!!!!

Cheryl | 134 comments CAROL, I AGREE WITH YOU. AS FOR THE CANNING, I'M DONE, BUT I HAVE PICKED UP 2 INTERNSHIPS AT LOCAL WINERIES DOING FOOD PAIRINGS AND WINE DINNERS FOR THE LOCAL RELEASES. OCTOBER IS THE WINE HARVEST MONTH AND THE FESTIVAL IS THE 3RD WEEK OF OCTOBER SO I WILL HAVE TO FOREGO VREELAND'S BOOK THIS MONTH AND READ IT AT A LATER DATE. I LOVE CLARA AND MR. TIFFANY, THOUGH!
