Invasion discussion

I run out of my house and look next door with the aliens taking away my friend's parents. I shoot my bow at one. The arrow enters its skull but it's too late. They're gone. I see ((What's your name?)) behind a bush and run to her.
Kiara watched in horror as the men began to revolt against the aliens, giving all the smaller humans a chance to escape. Realizing that she could, she took her opening, and ran. She ran as far away from them as she could, having nothing but her wits to survive.
Evey watched from her perch as another batch of people were carted off by the Aliens, but at least they were preoccupied with their new prey and so didn't notice her watching from the rooftop. That was one thing Evey could be grateful for, Aliens, just like humans, never looked at rooftops. She crouched low, watching them, trying to discern any weakness in them. She had been watching them since her parents had been taken all those years before, waiting for them to show their vulnerability. Unfortunately they didn't seem to have one. Evey saw a a dark blur rush for a bush and instinctively gasped, she could have been seen!
I look around, looking for something, anything that shouldn't be there. That's when I see someone on a roof. Smart. She waves at the person. She can't tell who it is.
She eventually realized she was being followed and ducked into an alley. After she'd realized there was a dead end, she noticed a metal ladder, and climbed it. Once she was on the roof, she managed to haul the ladder up, and flattened herself against the roof.
Evey crouched lower to the roof, if that girl could see her, so could others! But she had to admire the other girls observance. I could use someone with her skills. She mused. Maybe it would be worth a tentative meeting, but then maybe not it was a big risk to trust anyone these days.
((my names Layla. LOL))
I just can't believe this happened. It has been happening since I was five. But my parents kept me hidden, even if it ment giving themselves up instead.

A tear rolled down my cheak, but I knew I couldn't stay here. I moved back into the shadows where I found Kate waiting for me.
"Got any weapons?" she whispered. I pull out my phone charger.
"This probably makes me look bad. Forgot my gun," I mumble. Kate looks up at the aliens and her brow furrows.
"What in the-" She's cut off by peircing sherik that I later realize is coming from the aliens. "The phone charger!" Kate says suddenly. We both stare at it. But I can't help a smile playing on my lips.

Kit swiftly jumped over a picket fence, running full speed at the house and garage ahead of her. She could hear the panicked shrieks of people being caught, and the distinctive sound of aliens marching, but those sounds became nothing but white noise to her after all of these years. It was only silence that made Kit uneasy. In a moment her foot was against the garage's wall pushing her upward. Kit swung onto the roof with ease. She paused for a moment catching her breath, then leaped onto the roof of the house. Cautiously she moved forward surveying the scene. There were patches of kids seemingly unaware of the others. Two other girls were on the roof tops. 'This is bad' Kit thought to herself 'the more people are on rooftops the more likely the aliens are going to learn to look there.' Kit pulled an old pronged antenna out of the roof she was on and headed towards the two girls on the roof.
Evey had seen enough for one night, it was time to make her exit. She quickly looked around before she started to move away from the Aliens. She heard a strange twang from her right and looked over to see a girl advancing on her holding an old antenna. Evey rolled onto her back and sat up, her hands out in front of her to show she was unarmed. This isn't going to end well, one crazy girl with an antenna against me? Evey gave a small half laugh. Now there is poetic justice, survive the Aliens to be killed by a human!
Kit made eye contact with one of the girls on the roof and held up her hand in reassurance. "You might want to keep moving," Kit whispered, "no matter where you are if you stay still for too long you'll end up alien food." Kit made a quick glance around to see where might be a safe place to move towards.
Kit knew she looked strange carrying around a metal antenna, but they were hard to come by and extremely useful. "I promise I'm not crazy, and you can follow me if you'd like, but take my advice and start moving." She threw the antenna on a bush not too far from the roof, and ran off the side of the building rolling when she hit the ground. Unsure of what the other girl might do she looked up at her for a moment.
Evey moved off from her spot and ran along the roof silently. She flitted across the roofs, keeping to the side that was hidden from the street. After about 10 roofs she came to a stop and crawled forward on her stomach to get a better view of what was happening down in the street. She was intrigued as to what the crazy girl with the antenna was up to.
Kit slipped along the side of a house and pulled sling shot out from the rain gutter. She had stored all sorts of things throughout the entire area, if ever there was an emergency. Whipping off the sweat on her fingers she began to unscrew the antenna. She took a long screw that was still pointy and loaded her sling shot with it. She slowly crept around the corner, and peered up at the phone wires. Aliens were marching down the street still unable to see her. Kit pulled back on the rubber band with the screw in her fingers, aimed at the transformer nearest the aliens, and released. She almost missed but the transformer started popping and shooting sparks. The aliens lost formation and began panicking. Kit darted in the opposite direction smiling.
Evey was impressed, that was ingenuity! She gave a silent cheer and made a quick decision, this was a girl worth getting to know. She made her way carefully to the edge of the roof and started to make her way down to street level. The girl had said Evey could follow her so...She dropped onto the street just in time to see a shadow move quickly, if she had blinked, she would have missed it. Guessing it was her crazy antenna girl, Evey set after her, keeping to the shadows only enough to hide her from the Aliens. She really wanted to talk to antenna girl.
Kit could hear steps behind her, they sounded cautious so she assumed it was the girl she had met earlier. Kit continued ahead until she felt the two of them were a safe distance to talk without worry, and turned around standing up straight.
Evey saw the girl turn towards her and emerged out of the shadows. "That was quite the stunt you pulled back there. I'd love to know how you thought that one up." She smiled at the girl still impressed by what she had witnessed.
"The aliens don't come out too much during storms, there could have been a million and one reasons why that's the case, but I tested out a theory." Kit kept trying to think of some fancy elaboration, but all she knew is that blowing a transformer worked once before, and it worked again. "Could be the noise, or the fact that there is a high probability of fire, who knows?"
Evey nodded thoughtfully. "I've been watching them for years and I've never seen them scatter like that before." She held out her hand. "You can call me E."
Kit shook her hand, "the name's Kit. Good to meet you." Kit grabbed the antenna in both hands and started to bend it, "There's more to this than the screw you know. The wire on the inside can make a lighter, and seeing as it's getting darker by the minute it'll help." It had been a long time since Kit had, had any company and didn't really know what to say. The antenna broke in half and Kit pulled out a long thin wire and wrapped it around her hand.
"Well Kit, I don't know about you, but I could really do with a cup of tea." She looked around her and got her bearings. She wasn't far from one of her hideouts. "You can bring the antenna if you want." She smiled slightly mischievously.
Kit was stunned at first, she hadn't thought about tea in a long time. "Yeah sounds great", she finally managed to mutter out, "I can start a fire, just tell me where."
Evey gestured to Kit to follow as she turned down a side street. She led Kit on a round about route to a small shed in the back garden of a large, deserted mansion. "Welcome to my humble abode. Would you like normal tea or earl grey, I think I may have some lady grey floating around here some where." She started to rummage around in the mass of tins that took up a large portion of one wall. The other three walls were covered in bookshelves and books. Two old arm chairs an a small bed dominated the room and a small camping fire was the only other addition. "Make yourself comfortable, theres a blanket on the chair if you get cold."
"whatever is handy." Kit pulled out a battery from her pocket and attached an end of the wire on the positive and negative side. The wire started to get hot and kit held it to a piece of ripped cloth in her pocket. In a moment it was a small burning fire that she dropped into the camping fire. "Have you been by yourself all this time?"
"Yes." Evey filled a pan with water and set it over the camping fire. "Ooh, jasmine tea! Forgot I even had this." She turned and grinned at Kit. "I've been watching them, trying to find their weakness, anything to help fight them! They are stronger, more advanced than us, they thrash us every time." She dug around for some mugs, it had been a while since she had been in this particular hideout. "What about you? Been alone long?"
"Past few months I've been alone. Before that I was with another kid." Kit started biting her nails, but stopped quickly and tucked her hands under her legs. "Sorry, old rabbits die hard. Jasmine tea sounds lovely."
"Hey bite away, there are few things in this world we can call ours, the need to bite our nails is something they cannot take away." She poured the boiled water into the mugs with the tea bags. She handed Kit a steaming mug and lowered herself into the other arm chair. "So back to the antenna."
"Ah yes the antenna. I suppose you do deserve some answers for this tea." Kit took a long sip. "The wire is old so it's copper and makes a much better temporary lighter. As for the metal casing I'm testing out another theory." Kit closed her eyes and breathed in the steam.
"More 'kabooming'?" Evey smiled. "Do tell me to shut up if I'm being too nosy, but if you have found a way to kill them..." She watched the steam rise out of her cup entranced. "I have to find a way to kill them." She muttered half to herself.
Layla just stares at the two girls through the window with Kate by her side. They exchange looks of disbeliefe.
"I thought I had seen it all when aliens invaded the planet and my parents were stolen, but this!" Kate giggles.

Kate looks at Layla. "This is amazing. And, you forgot your gun?" Kate asks then shrugs it off handing Layla hers. "Use mine until we can get into your house and get yours back."
"Eavesdropping is considered rude." Evey opened her window and looked down onto the two girls. "What are you doing here? Were you followed?"
Layla nodds and sneaks quietly into the shadows.
"Alas poor Yorick but no more explosions." Kit took another sip and heard a faint giggle. "Either my stomach now sounds oddly like a girl giggling or we have company."
Layla and Kate look at each other and try not to laugh.
"Uh... I'll take two of those," Layla says and walk in. "Glad to see we're not the only ones who survived,"

Kate follows close behind. Looking around as if studing every inch of the place. "it's safe in here?" Kate asks.
"Now, why did you follow us and more importantly were you followed?" She couldn't blame them, not really, but still if they had been followed a lot more trouble could be heading their way.
Layla's to busy studing the room to hear the question.
"You from out of town?" she asks nodding at the various paintings on the wall.

I watched in horror as the things that invaded me house marched past my hiding spot. It was disgusting, they took my parents and now were looking for me. But they didn't want to expeirement. The aliens were out for kill, and I was on the run. Have been for 7 years now. Once they passed, I leaped up and bolted in the other direction. I sneaked up on one of the things got out my phone charger. Apparently, I had forgot to bring my gun. I cussed inside my head and dove behind a bush. Stupid aliens. They ruined my life. And I would destroy them, even if I had to give my life to do it.
