James Baldwin is one of the most well known black queer writers that I know...and he has caused me to wonder what we define as black queer fiction. Is it black queer fiction because it's theme rests on the duality of two minority identities or because it is written by a person of those two identities? For instance, "Another Country," has a black behaviorally bisexual-self identitied heterosexual-Rufus and a white behaviorally bisexual-self identitied homosexual-so is it a black queer book?
