Cat 2. The Age of Innocence by Edith WhartonI have this one on my bookshelf, and I'm dying to have a reason to get to it.
Cat. 1 - The Necklace: Thirteen Women and the Experiment That Transformed Their Lives by Cheryl JarvisIt's been on my "To Read" list for so long & would love to have a REAL reason to read it.
Hey guys, before nominating you really MUST check the rules and guidelines.
There are two nominations here (msg #11 and #12) for books we have already read as a group.
Also, msg #7 and #11 are for the same book.
In the rules, which are listed as the very first post to this thread, I state that you should not nominate something someone has already nominated. You also cannot nominate something that the group has already read.
You can easily view which books the group has read by reviewing the "read" bookshelf or scrolling through the Group Discussion folder.
Please guys, make this easy for me. Read the rules and adjust your posts accordingly.
Thanks so much for your continued excitement around our group reads, and thanks for following the rules!!

The categories going forward will remain as follows (based on your feedback):
Cat1- Regular Fiction/Non-Fiction
Cat2- Classics
In order for a novel to count as "Classic" it must be published pre-1980.
Please do not nominate a book more than once. A book can only be voted on once, so multiple nominations within this thread are not counted.
Only ONE nomination per person.
If you nominate a book for catagory 1, you CANNOT nominate a book for catagory 2, and visa versa.
Please be sure to post the title, author, and the catagory it belongs to.
Ideally, you can type it as follows -
Cat 1. Room - Emma Donoghue
If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.
Are you ready?
I will accept nominations through Tuesday evening. If we get tons of nominations, I may pull the plug on it a little early, so get them in as soon as you can!
Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!
Hit us with your best noms!
**Important note: At no time is it acceptable for an author to nominate one of his/her own books for the monthly group read. Likewise, it is not acceptable to "push" nominations or votes within this group. It also follows that "a nomination for a nomination" is not acceptable. If I suspect a push, or inappropriate actions have taken place within the group read nominations or votes, I reserve the right to deem those nominations or votes as ineligible.
