My first romance was
. I was 17. If U like Contemporary Romance. I recommend
.. and..
.. These are my favorite Linda Howard books!! :)Alpha hero + Lively strong heroine + Love/Hate relationship. Touching books!!
I think my first romance was Double Love, the first book in the Sweet Valley High series. It was my older sister's book, and I was only about eight years old. It started my love of YA romance early, lol!
Nice... :) I remembered we didn't have any romance around the house when I was young. My parents read mostly non-fictions *boring* lol...
LOL! My mom only read Stephen King books when I was a teen, so not a lot of romance stories there.I don't think I can remember my first romance book....so sad... :( I wish I could though!

I think

Never read the books :D But I liked the movies :)

True but some movies are way better than the book. :)
OK, let me start this by saying that I am OLD -- 38. So my love affair (pun intended) with YA romance began wayyyy back in the '80s. Back then, it was all about the Sweet Valley High series and Harlequin Romances. My parents' friend worked for some publishing house so he got me stacks of these books for free and I devoured them. I thought that Jessica and Liz were the coolest because Liz always had the steady boyfriend and Jess always had a hot date.

I don't exactly remember when I read my first romance, probably around 12 or 13. I think it was Jane Eyre, but I was completely hooked on regency romances when I was a teen.

I loved those, too!
@Naomi I know those books were published back in the 80s, but I read them in the 21st century! I am yet to read SVH, but I have read Sweet Valley Twins, their middle school adventures
Harshini WatchMeRead wrote: "My first would have to be

Omnia wrote: "Romeo and Juliet :) when i was 7"Wow you read that book when you were 7? :) I didn't read it until I was in high school :D
I believe The Lucky OneWas the first love story I ready when I really got into reading! I only read it b/c the movie was coming out and that's where reading all began for me!
The first romantic book i read was Double Standards by Judith McNaught and i was just smitten by it and it became my most favorite book ever!
The first YA book I ever read was
It had a bit of romance in it, but I don't think it could be exclusively considered romance. I have no idea what my first actual romance was, but when I read Maximum Ride I was in 5th grade, from there out I was addicted to YA books.
Ha I'm old too! I don't remember the first romance book I read but I did read Harlequins early on - maybe when I was 11 or 12. (I remember Penny Jordan specifically) I think my aunt had them around so I snuck them under the covers. I remember my dad caught me reading one - really late at night and I was so embarrassed. I did read Sweet Valley High but I remember not loving the series. Do you guys remember the Sweet Dreams series? I remember bawling my eyes out to this:
was probably the first romance I read way back in sixth grade. It started a long obsession with Meg Cabot books.

, that I particularly loved.

first romance i ever read was All's fair in lova, war, and Highschool. If that even counts as a romance.
I don't remember the name of the book but it was by, Johanna Lindsey . My oldest siste had a collection of her books.
