The Nerd Herd discussion

Zaya walked in and looked around at all the basketball hoops. "This is heaven!", she yelled. She listened to her voive bounce around the empty gym walls.

He smothered a laugh. "Glad you like it." he grabbed a ball and shot it. And missed.

Zaya caught it from under the hoop. She backed up and shot, she scored as the ball went straight through the hoop silently. She looked at Jack.

He frowned and stuck out his tongue, looking like a seven year ols.

Zaya laughed. "So, what's your better sport?", she asked as she scored another basket.

"Soccer." he said, dribbling the soccer ball beneath his feet as he spoke.

"Cool. You on a team?"

"Nah. I just play with my friends." he said. Kicking the ball into the balance beam.

Zaya nodded and shot another basket.

"You on q basketball team?" he asked her as he went to retrieve the ball.

"I was, until I moved. We were The Sharks!", Zaya pumped her fist, then shot yet another basket.

"Welll..... How was history?"

Zaya looked at him, "History, really? I say we get hot and sweaty!!!!"

He bit back a laugh. "Alright then..." he stepped up on the balance beam and did a back flip, maybe showing off, maybe for the heck of it, maybe both.

((LOL)) Zaya appluaded then shot a basket. She tried again and missed. "Shoot!", she yelled.

(( I'm bored.)) "I'm in the mood for chicken wings." he said randomly, almost absently doing another flip. He was showing off this time.

Zaya laughed. "I'm in the mood for homemade chocholate chip cookies soft and warm, fresh from the oven, with a tall glass of milk.", Zaya shot a basket.

"chicken wings." he said in a defiant sing song voice. "CHicken wings, I say."

Zaya laughed again. "Ok fine. I still want those cookies though."

Jack collapsed across the balance beam, tired and bored. "FIne. I give in."

"Yay.", Zaya said as she sat down on the balance beam next to him.

He looked up at her. "Where do we go? Cow chips isnt too far away."

((OTAY)) Zaya smiled. "Sure!", she got off the balance beam and walked towards the exit.

"Let meh grab some junk first." he said, rushing up to his dorm. He came back down wuickly, with his wallet in his back pocket, and his cell in his left front jean pocket.

Zaya jogged into her dorm and grabbed her cellular telephone, and $10. "Shall we go?"

"Off to Cow CHips!" he said. "Seperate cars or carpool?"

Zaya thought for a second, "Your car is stinkin' awesome. I say we take yours. It'll probably be the only time in like ten years i'll get to ride in one of those."

He laughed. "Maybe not." he said, winking. He opened the door for her and bowed.

Zaya laughed. "Why thank you good sir.", she curtsied before getting in the passenger seat.

He got in the car and shoved the keys in the ignition. The car came to life. Eve looked after them jealously through her tears, though Jack took no notice. ((gtg))

Zaya felt the smooth leather seat. "This is one of the nicest cars i have ever been in.", she smiled as they rode out of the school grounds. ((awwww))

He drove through the town. As they rolled to a stoplifht, he lounged in his seat. He let out a sigh, letting his cheeks puff out.

Zaya fiddled with her seat belt. not knowing what to say.

"Sooo .. how long have you been wanting to go to the University?"

"Uh, I've been looking at colleges since i was......15, and i found this one when i was 15 and 3/4. Right away i wanted to go here. I had found the perfect college.", she smiled.

He grinned and parked in the Cow Chips parking lot. "I went here because mom made me."

Zaya laughed. "Very impressive.", she nodded.

He got out if the car and opened her door before she had time to get out. "Quite."

She laughed yet again. "Thank you once again good Sir.", she curtsied for the second time.

He laughed and locked the car. "Let's go." he said.

Zaya checked her pocket to make sure she still had everything. "Alright i'm good.", she walked up to the door after Jack.

He opened the door for her, and closed it behind them. the sweet aroma of baking met their noses.

Zaya took a big whiff. "That smells delicious!"

"Why, yes it does." He said. He decided to get the 12 inch cookie.

((WOAH I WANT ONE OF THOSE)) Zaya looked at the menu for a while. Then the lady came up. "Hi welcome to Cow Chips how may i help you?"

((lol there isn't one)) jack said decisively, "A tweleve inch cookie."

((I STILL WANT ONE)) "Ok. One 12 inch cookie. And for you?", she looked at Zaya with a smile. "Same for me.", she said. The lady smiled and said, "So 2 12 inch cookies?", Zaya looked at Jack. "Yep. That sounds about right."

He nodded in conformation.
