It is, and yet I like the trajectory of it. It's filthy and yet coming from the place of someone being determined to know herself. And so each of the moments she has, no matter how debased, are also about self-discovery, and the way she values them is moving at the same time. So it's fascinating to me. Also, I love the chorus-style discussions at the end of chapters, and the stark writing style.
