If you want a quick engaging read and enjoy post apocalyptic settings, give the ebookThe Old Man and the Wasteland by Nick Cole a try. It's only 130 pages or so, but I really enjoyed it. Those who liked Ernest Hemingway'sThe Old Man and the Sea will appreciate it too. The best part is it's just .99c on amazon for the kindle version.
by Nick Cole
Tim I looked that up. It sounds interesting. I like stories like that myself. Will have to give it a go in the near future. Do that have that in a form of a book or just Kindle?
Hey guys I have got to recommend Adam, Dustin first told me about this book. I had already loved Ted Dekker! He is phenominal! I am still reading Adam but I feel confident in recommending this book and the Author in general. Ted Dekker

I'm just surprised that they'd put so many spoilers in the summary, talk about dissapointed.
Yea I thought so too, but there is so much more to the book than what is revealed in the summary. I did however hate knowing that he was dead for 21 min. That would have been better left unsaid. I do hope you give the book a try though. Dekker is an amazing Author.

The author is relatively new and i think he self published it.

I'd be surprised if you found it. It's from a little known author and he doesn't have a lot of books out.
I am currently reading 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared' by Jonas Jonasson ~ http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16... I am not finished it but its fab so far :)
Hello Pals!!!I just got a horror book to recommend.
Its 'The Chill Of Fear ' by Kay Hooper. I read it from 10:00pm till 12:00.am two nights ago!
Greetings
Meryl
Kay's series on the Bishop/Special Crimes Unit are all about blood, horror and a lot of psychic and paranormal stuff! This book was my first Kay Hooper!

Hey Meryl have you tried Amazon, lol (I sound like a broken record.) Anyway I was looking a few days back and saw that they had a few used dealers that are selling for under 10 cents and ship internationally. Something to check into.

I recently finished a couple of books I really enjoyed from authors I'd never read:Peter Clines, 14
Adam Nevill, The Ritual
I wish they were all that good.
I would like to recommend The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and Do I Dare Disturb the Universe? by Charlise Lyles.
Guys, I wanted to recommend the book A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny. We're reading this as part of a group read. The book is split up in 31 chapters for each day in October. It's like a lunatic scavenger hunt told from the perspective of a dog named Snuff. I've only read the first chapter but it's hilarious and very entertaining! Perfectly suited for this time of year :)
Roger Zelazny
Oh ok thanks Chuck! :) Will check them out. Cheryl have not read Catch 22. Tim that sounds like a real cute book.
Here's a conversation between two dogs in a cemetary..."...How long've you been a graveyard dog?"
"All my life"
"Like it?"
"It's a living," he said.
hahahahahahaha
I have a couple but will post later today
My recommendation for this month would be Anne Bishop especially her Black Jewel Trioloy. They are a dark fantasy genre, but so wonderful to read it would so great to finally find other people to discuss these books with lol. http://www.annebishop.com/
Thanks Jessie for your recommendation. Not my genre of books but I will check it out anyway! I am always up for finding new stuff! I am sure that someone else here will also like them.
I believe that the intital characters do stay but i believe in the end a few of the key players do die, but i don't want to give anything away :x
I was asking because a lot of books that say they are a series, bring in a whole new cast of characters for each new book in the series. Including the main character. Those to me aren't really series. Just an order in which they were written. So I was curious about this one. If it is a series, I like to see that at least the main character carries over unless something happens to them and it is well expained.
Oh yes the main character sticks around atleast through the triology and even pops up in a few of the short stories by the author as well
ok awesome! I will check into reading them. I read the description for the first book in the series. Doesn't sound too bad! If you would like to post it for a Buddy read, feel free. You may get some takers on it.
Alright thanks for the suggestion ^.^ yeah this book is one of those kinds that you have to be interested in the genre to want to read it, but thanks for checking it out.
I recommend This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don’t Touch It. It's an apocalyptic story that has everything--evil, horror, humor, wit, love, monsters and friendship. For me, it's as good as the best of King.
Hey guys I have a recommended short story for y'all. It was pretty good and you can get it free on Amazon right now. It is called Whatever Possessed You, by Evans Light. So look it up and see if it might be something you would like. Here is a direct link to get from Amazon. Just wanted to share.

The world was shaken by two terrible events. The Unknown force stole two sacred stones – the Black Stone of the Kaaba and the Anointing Stone. But God's hiding the third one in his hand…
A desperate trek through the desert at Khufu . . . the discovery of an ancient treasure room, long since ransacked . . . a scar-faced priest, never without his little book and stone cross . . . a young boy, vanished from the beach . . . a pair of special-ops veterans, now in law enforcement . . . an inveterate fortune-seeker, reunited with the Cambodian goddess who had once rescued him from death . . . and a beautiful woman--pregnant and in the spring of life--who seeks to know who, or what, has taken her husband from this earth. The truth, like a gossamer web, enshrouds the path toward a stone whose origin is the birth of history; one of three such stones that, when at last brought together, will unleash the hordes of evil upon this mortal realm. All is intertwined, though the fact is not clear to them. The relationship is only discerned by the one whose awareness is not of this dimension; a green-eyed demon that blithely butchers anyone who happens to cross its path. It is called the Essence, and it will make your death a delight for the hounds of Hell. Thus the lonely quest of an aging priest meets that of an adventurer, two ex-commandos and a Creole widow. If they do not somehow meet, and function as no other team could, the world as we know it will end in an ocean of blood. In this spine-tingling thriller, "The Khufu Equation," the magic that transcends time is brought into ingenious play against a backdrop of intrigue, innocence and bold sexuality. It's the story of people from vastly different paths who must battle for their souls against a monster of indomitable power. What is the secret, and what does the monster want? Who can stop it? Find out . . . if you dare . . . in the teeth-chattering pages of this excellent new novel by the young Russian novelist Rail Sharif.
Hmmmm.... I think The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is one of the best books I 've ever read....I also loved The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne
Now... One of my favorite authors is John Grisham and in my opinion his best books are The Pelican Brief and The Runaway Jury
