(Hi, I'm new in this group, and French so excuse my bad English sometimes)The Yacoubian building, by Alaa Al Aswany
Nefertiti by Michelle Mranand
The Heretic Queen by Michelle Moran again. She writes beautiful historical fiction
Woman at point zero, by Nawal El Saadawi. It's a strong book about women's conditions in Egypt by Nawal El Saadawi, an egyptian writer who's been emprisoned and forced to flee Egypt because of her work for women's rights.
I also liked The Harafish by Naguib Mahfouz a lot.
Basma Abdel Aziz, The Queue. Really likes this one: dystopian state, reminds me of Victor Pelevin and Ismail Kadare, written by a woman activist. Strange and compelling.
Palace Walk is the first book in the Cairo Trilogy by Nobel Prize winning Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz. It tells us the story of a Muslim Arab family in Cairo between 1917 and 1919. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
Woman at Point Zero is a powerful yet sad feminist story by award-winning Egyptian author and activist Nawal El Saadawi ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
