Hey! I am currently reading three books, but two I'm not focusing on. Nor have a really had a look at them for several weeks, so I will just mention the other one!I am currently reading The Burning Star by Jessie Lane. Not sure what to think so far, only a few chapters in but there have been some moment that have left me rolling my eyes and sighing... I hope it picks up!
Ok so yesterday I was at our local used book store, (greatest place ever), and I was helping my son look for a science fiction he wanted. Now science fiction is really not my genre, it seems to complicated for me. Anyway, I randomly picked up this book This Is Not a Game, and decided to give it a shot because it looked interesting (I loved the cover) please dont judge. So I am gonna read this before my read for Carrion Comfort starts. I will let y'all know what it is like.

I am reading The Tommyknockers by Stephen King and it is !so! slow! I ust want it to pick up! I might have to read another one with it and rotate parts of it because I am a long way through it and don't want to give up. I'll post a ranty review of this one of course:D

Yes Victor it was real slow in the beginning, especially book 2. But Book 3 made it worth the read for me. Hope you can make your way through it.

Victor, Tommyknockers is rough to get through. Book II seems to drag forever, but when you get to Book III it takes a turn and really picks up speed and your done before you know it. At least that was my experience with it.

I don't know what I cn do about it:/ I'll just start another book and then read a chapter from that book and then read like 2 parts from Tommyknockers.

Lee not yet for me, I had considered picking it up because I really enjoyed Swan's song. McCammon can be hard to get into because sometimes he can be a bit wordy.

Okay I plunged on and am okay now. But the first five pages of this book freaked me out. I have never read anything that twisted and demented. I know there are people in the world that do crap like that, but it makes me sick and I didn't expect a book to start that way.
Janie wrote: "Oh I have heard alot about that one Victor. Let me know when you write your review!"Okay:D

Thank You Janie! Enjoy reading your books too!
I'm currently re-reading The Tommyknockers for the SK group monthly read, which I'm LOVING.I'm also in the process of re-reading Brisingr in preparation for the final installment, Inheritance.
I just finished The Midnight Palace. It is a second part of the 'Niebla' trilogy. It wasn't bad. I guess I can't be to excited about it, since YA in not my cup of tea. Now, with 5 days to fill in till the Carrion Comfort read, I started the fantasy book club read for the month:
Libriomancer.

Did Inheritance already come out? Inheritance is the green one right?
Ugh I just could not continue with This Is Not a Game So I put it aside and picked up The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker. Has anyone experienced such a good book and you dont get it out of your head right away? And then you pick up another and you find yourself comparing them?
At the moment only 1984 but I have Brick Lane and Gone with the Wind on the way in the post and heaps more books in cupboards or shelves screaming for attention.

I hear ya Cheryl! I have so many books I can choose from, and yet I dont quit buying them either. I have Carrion Comfort coming in the mail. Got it for under $4 using Amazon! Could not pass it up since we are having a group read on that one.

Janie, is Amazon really selling stuff that cheap? And it's new?
Victor you have your choice of new or used. The stuff that is that cheap, you are buying from other dealers that go through Amazon to sell their stuff. Amazon also sells the same stuff (all brand new)but for full price. I just bought a book there a couple weeks ago for 1 cent. I really dont care if it is new or used as long as it is in ok shape. I looked all over the place for a book called Monkey Shines, by Michael Stewart, ( fab book btw) and I found it on Amazon, hardback, for less than $5. So I always use Amazon to get those books I cant get from our local used book store. Just be careful that you note where it is coming from. LOL Dont wanna get it if it is over seas for me. LOL Shipping is generally about $3.75 depending on area. So I am still saving money. I dont mean to shove it down your throat. My daughter was the one that clued me in on Amazon. I have been using it ever since.
it seems like a big money saver. i'll prolly used it for 77 shadow street because it 9$ for a new hc.

Hi, Victor!
Yes, Inheritance is the green one. It come out last November, I think. I'm really looking forward to finally reading it, and seeing how it all ends!
Victor wrote: "i'll use it. i hate how books are so expensive!"I know, right? I will only splurge on SK, or a book I know I will re-read,otherwise I hunt for used or use the library.

Last November!? Where have I been? Haha!
Same Tracy, I rarely by a "new" book in the stores unless it is one I really want. Our local used book store does not always have the newer books unless someone turns them in. I got 77 shadow street cheap, and it is still brand new. Got if for $4. She told me that someone just that day brought it in. So I got lucky on that.

Yep, it's been out for quite some time. And Victor, my lovely wife gave it to me as an early Christmas present, and I've yet to read it.:)
Janie wrote: "Same Tracy, I rarely by a "new" book in the stores unless it is one I really want. Our local used book store does not always have the newer books unless someone turns them in. Otherwise, I'll check them out from the library, or pick them up second-hand.
I am currently reading ~ 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared' by Jonas Jonasson, which I am enjoying :)
Well I finally finished The Windup Girl and posted a review. I'm surprised with myself and after thinking about it had to up my rating to 4 stars. Anyway now I'm trying to fit in a couple quick reads (Wool Omnibus Edition and Hell House before we get started with the group read Something Wicked This Way Comes and Carrion Comfort.
