I really enjoyed this story. It introduces a really tough new female character that reappears in Flesh & Bone. I think it's great that this story fills in some of the time gap between stories.

I liked it but was a little confused until I started reading Flesh & Bone.

DEAD & GONE was intended as a glimpse into things/people in the Rot & Ruin other than the characters we already knew. There will be more of that in next year's TOOTH & NAIL.There are also two sets of free bonus scenes --each of which is comprised of glimpses into the past and present of the characters we know.
Here are links to the free ROT & RUIN bonus content: FIRST NIGHT MEMORIES includes an excerpt from Nix’s Journal and the story of how Tom Imura escaped with Benny on First Night: http://www.simonandschuster.com/admin...
IN THE LAND OF THE DEAD takes place between ROT & RUIN and DUST & DECAY http://www.simonandschuster.com/admin...
