"In this thread, everyone will post their reviews/opinions of the book they have read this week AFTER you rate/review it on your page. The purpose of this is so everyone can see what you read this week and read your review without having to visit each profile. Some of you have their profiles locked, so this saves you the trouble of unlocking it.

ANY COMMENTS THAT ARE NOT RELATED TO THAT MATTER WILL BE DELETED.

The format will be like this:

Name of book.
Author.
n/5 stars.

"Your simple opinion/extended review/one word that expresses what you thought of the book. GO CRAZY! Anything counts. Don't feel pressured."

Link to your review.

Also, this allows us to be organized, so even if a member didn't log in for about a month, they can add the book they've read to the appropriate thread.

THANK YOU ALL!

EDIT:
As I've mentioned in the guidelines, one word or a simple opinion counts as a 'review'. I only called it that because Goodreads calls it that."

Now let's see your achievements, awesome people.

عصر القرود
مصطفى محمود
3/5 stars.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'd hated this book. I was gearing up to mentally deal with more whiny protagonists. I was going to shake my fist at the publishing powers that be that were slowly hacking away at my trust in prettily bound books(The Red House, I'm looking at you). I was debating with myself on whether or not I should just put it down and pick up a Dr. Seuss. something light and fun and airy.

And then I reached half the book.

Now. I suppose my five star rating might be a bit inflated, and completely influence by the fact that I just put the book down, and it isn't all that amazing of a work, and I had a guess as to how it would pan out; but as a writer myself (pretentious cough, ahem ahem) I appreciate a brilliant plot twist when I see one. And this one had it.

Never mind that I hated the ending. Nevermind that the whole book is creepy enough to put me off. It was a good read, and I'm not ashamed it had my full attention after that turning point, hook, line, and sinker.

(after some delibration with me myself and I, I've decided to downgrade the rating from 5 to 4, because I do not like the ending. I want to shake everyone involved with the ending. Except Go. I like Go.)
