I like your poem Numey, but two quick things- according to the prompt, it must be new (as in written solely for this contest) and should be geared towards an emotion. While the emotion thing can be bended, and books can cause emotion, it's not the real thing we're looking for.
My apologies. You are a great poet, I'm looking forward to your new poem, as I'm sure you'll write.

Thank you charlie... it's not how I imagined it turning out, but I still think it's ok. :) Come on guys, lets get some more entries in here!!
I'm bowing out before entering, unless I can get one done during reading week. Between university, and hockey I've been swamped with work. :/
thanks Kggelen. It turned out a bit differently from how I thought it up... maybe some day I'll flesh it out a bit.

Hey, I wrote this yesterday...for the people I miss, it is a kind of feeling so...Name: Numey
Title: I Miss You
Story/Poem or link: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3...
Only five years I knew
The very part, the best of you...
Now-
I miss you,
I really do..
Maa, I dream about you...
You visit me in my visions,
Out of the blue...
I miss more, than what I have,
I show less than what I feel
I shed the same, in and out, the tears
Four times twice you stayed,
Million stars with you swayed
I don't miss you so much, I stare...
Apple you called me, now I seem betrayed...
Please visit me in my dreams,
For I have craved...
I've missed more, than what I had
I've expressed less, than what I could
I now will no more grieve,
For the loss of you,
But I still miss you; my guardian angels.
I know you know that, my dear angels.
Sorry guys I think it will be later than tomorrow. Charlie and I really haven't had a chance totalk and I have work tomorrow so it will most likely be posted either today or Wednesday depending upon Charlie's schedule.
Is it still open???*cough cough*

Title: Understanding.
Story/Poem or Link:
It's difficult for me to say,
Just what your words mean to me.
And I know it's impossible...
For me to understand,
Everything in your mind,
All you're going through,
All this crazy s***...
But that doesn't mean that I won't try...
Tell me, tell me how you're feeling.
Don't let it all fester inside you.
All I want to do is understand, make you see,
That just because it's said, doesn't mean it's true.
All those things that you've been told,
They make you feel misunderstood,
Make you think it's impossible...
For people to see,
You're not that bad,
Not all the time.
For them to know.
You're just what they're making you be.
I know I can't make it all right.
Because some of it's my fault too.
But that won't stop me from living it out;
From trying to help, trying to understand...
Don't ignore what they say of you,
But don't let it run your life.
It's useful stuff to know, you see.
But don't let it cause you strife...
All of the entries are very nice ^_^ I like them all! It'll be a hard choice!Elanore: what is your poem about? I realize it's understanding but it seems deeper, if I may ask that is.
Understanding, Encouragement, Learning from Hate... Don't you dare ever, ever hurt yourself because of something someone said.
Indeed. Congratulations Eleanor, and good job to the rest of you. As always plenty of talent here. Looking forward to next month.

The prompt: Write something new. It can be a poem, short story or something in between. This new work must be about an emotion or feeling. Describe it, what does it look like, sound like, feel like? If you’re feeling creative, make your new piece of writing look like your emotion.
Example: If you decide on anger, make your writing red and bold. Or sorrow, deep blue and italics. OR find a photo that shows your emotion and put it at the head of your piece, draw from it, use it as inspiration.
Have fun with this topic, it can be as literal or surreal as you want. This is supposed to be fun!
