Jossi (jossicampos) | 3 comments I wouldn't mind reading it again

Allison Read it soooo many times that I will not be reading it again any time soon but always ready to discuss it! Extremely jealous of all of you who get to read it for the very first time.

Bev (greenginger) | 296 comments I had to read this in school and at the time disliked it intensely. Re read it a few years later and watched a film of it and then it clicked. Fantastic and funny and moving. Brilliant book.

Suzanne | 2 comments I have just finished reading it :-) i have tried before when i was a teenager but found it trying and gave up. I have watched different adaptions of it and loved them but reading it oh my. The films haven't done it justice. Truely enjoyed it looking forward to reading more Jane Austen

Agreed! He does it excellently in the BBC version.

Diana Gotsch | 18 comments I read this Pride and Prejudice in high school the first time. Don't know how many times I've read it, more correctly parts of it. It is one that now opens to my favorite parts on its own.

Terri R I'm going to read the annotated version this time ...

Miriam (mima118) | 3 comments Just started the book. I like the playful banter Mr. Bennet dishes. He seems light hearted. The wife/mom on the other hand is annoying. Geez I know getting married in that time was important but she is going a little far. Actually, I think I might have a handful of friends that are wacky in that sense too.

Harri (books_and_tea) I've just finished, and I loved it. :D

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I have listened to this on audio about 6 times this year - it's one of my 'can't sleep reads'!

I am read quite a lot of Austen spin offs this year and almost finished Georgiana Darcy's Diary: Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice Continued by Anna Elliott which I started last night at work and I love it!

Amanda (jasmenigma) | 8 comments This was really fantastic! I am glad I got to check that off the tbr list. :)

Mes I really enjoyed it and I simply couldn't stop reading until I finished it!

Indeed. There is no screen Darcy like Colin Firth.

I also have to give to Colin Firth the title of best Lord Henry in the Dorian Gray adaptation.

Diana Gotsch | 18 comments What I love about Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy is that he is so much more likable than some of the others. He seems just painfully shy rather than arrogant.

Sunny (travellingsunny) Bringing this thread back to life! It has again been voted for our LIST group read - this time for September 2013. Enjoy!

message 18: by Liz (new) - rated it 4 stars

Liz Hunt I love reading this book over and over and over. The odd thing is the first time I read it was after is seen the bbc mini series version with Colin firth. I thought that series was much more passionate than the book. However, having since read it many times after that and having read more of her writings I can say that this is a very passionate book

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) A wonderful book, and the movie with Colin Firth does it great justice!
