Before I stopped reading to focus on my latest project, I was re-reading the Beautiful Creatures series in anticipation of the new book / movie.Oh and the manga series Eerie Queeree.... I have no explanation.
Unfortunately I'm reading this. Very repetitive. Trying to finish but I end up falling asleep during it, sigh.
I recently finished
by Laura Bickle, which was really good. It's a YA apocalyptic horror/suspense novel that features an amish heroine and scary lethal vampires. Yep, crazy mix but it totally works! I'm currently reading
by Richard Kadrey and
by Carrie Lofty.
Simply because it was sitting on my shelf for 10 years, the poor thing. After reading Graceling, I thought, well, if I'm going to read a book about fighter girls in a medieval-like setting, I might as well read The Ladies of Mandrigyn
:)
I just start rereading Battlefield Earth. I have already read it twice. One of my favorite science fiction stories.Battlefield Earth
I'm still working on The Host and A Game of Thrones...our kids are at grandmas tonight so maybe just maybe I can find time to read tonight!!
The Lion, the Witch, and the WardrobeThe Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the DarkFour to ScoreNot sure what I'll read after the LWW.

I think it's a good series, it's a different twist on vampires and it's interesting to see where the author is going to go with it. I admit some of the books are a little weird for me but I really like reading each hero's story!

It's amazing! I finished it last night, and can't wait for the second book. the world and characters are amazing and very interesting.
These are the ones that I'm reading this week. Having a hard time concentrating this week since my kids are on Fall Break. Anyone having the same problem with your attention spans?

I don't have kids but my attentions span still seems to be pretty minimal.

Yeah, I've got a 5yr autistic son that's fairly demanding. Otherwise, my attention span is pretty --oh, look a butterfly O.O

Thank goodness for netbooks, and pdf's."
Clearly you've never read Zombies vs Unicorns or you would not be trying to curse me with unicorns ;-)
I just finished
. It was tough going. Her other series was soooo good but I had a hard time with this one. I'm going to attempt
, but I had a difficult time with the first book in this series too. I'm trying to read the books I own that I haven't gotten to yet before I pick something new. :)

Actually I have read Zombies vs. Unicorns, which I enjoyed immensely. At the end of it all I couldn't actually choose a team. Holly and Justine were a riot to in their conversation pages.
I am currently reading "How To Date A Werewolf (The Rylie Cruz Series)" by Rose Pressey. Writes like she's talking to you, is humorously descriptive of the main character's thoughts and makes the reader want to cheer her characters on. I am trying to read mostly paranormal books because, well y'know, it's October and Halloween is coming. Staying in the spirit of the month and all.

Yes, those were better than the stories. Zombies freak me out but I liked more of those than the unicorn ones

I just finished the hunger games (first book). It is well written and à perfect book to read when you travel by train! Can't wait to read the second book.
I've got 4 going - all for direct review but one..the first is a YA called Flying to the Light - really neat premise and MC is nearly unheard of - a deaf child.
The second is a Suspenseful mystery with a romantic and historical twist called Blue Rose in Chelsea
the 3rd is the 2nd book in a series that I have a blog tour for - called The Sting of the Scorpio - it's a lit fic series that I really enjoyed book 1.
Then to round out the mix (for it must always be rounded) I'm doing Ranae Rose's new release Wuthering Heights from her Clandestine classics series of redoux. That was also a direct request.
so - that's me listed through probably Saturday mid-day - then I have 3 beta reads to complete... and time to start my November commitments
Yeah - I read a TON
I wish I could read more, so many books I want to read!!! I just need an endless supply of money and time to read them all, oh and a library for myself with all the books I've read :)
Nena wrote: "I wish I could read more, so many books I want to read!!! I just need an endless supply of money and time to read them all, oh and a library for myself with all the books I've read :)"Nena - if you have an ereader or an app - there are TONS of free offerings... check out Pixel of Ink, FreeBooksy, BookBub for starters. They all offer a multitude of genres and options.
I do not have one, I like the feel of a book. My poor eyes can't take looking at a screen for long periods of time. I will keep that in mind though, thanks Gaele :)
Nena wrote: "I do not have one, I like the feel of a book. My poor eyes can't take looking at a screen for long periods of time. Okay, it may have been one of my Spider-Man comics that he mistook for one of his stickers but that didn't make it hurt any less! >.<
BTW, the non-tablet eReaders like the Nook Glow or original Kindle are very easy on the eyes. My eyes are sensitive too ;-)
Nena wrote: "I do not have one, I like the feel of a book. My poor eyes can't take looking at a screen for long periods of time. I will keep that in mind though, thanks Gaele :)"I held out for such a long time but it was hard on the train. I have to admit I'm kind of addicted to my ipad now.
I read the first few chapters of each of these: Supernaturally, Guitar Girl, The Three Musketeers, Bloodhound, What Happened to Goodbye, RaptureAnd trying to finish this: The Perfect Age
Nena wrote: "I wish I could read more, so many books I want to read!!! Love everything about books, but don't always have time for reading as much as I would like. Now this site has me hooked which takes more time away...oopsie!
I recently finished Fifty Shades Freed. Now I'm working on The Casual Vacancy and I still am working on Lover Unbound (it keeps getting set aside due to bookclubs). Like 50 shades...starting to get into The Casual Vacancy. Love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

I thought it was good, but I didn't love them. It was a bit too repetitive for me. Don't get me wrong, there were many parts that had me wishing I was in their world, but then I just thought...it's a bit much! What did you like best about the books? I read the books for my family's book club. My aunt absolutely loved them and she barely reads!
I did not read Fifty Shades because I know people who write it better. If you want a really good BDSM theme book try Maya Banks and Lauren Dane just for starters
