Once Upon a Time (TV Show) discussion
Introduce yourself....
HI, I'M SHELLY. I LOVE THIS SHOW ITS GREAT. MY FAVORITE MOMENT WAS WHEN EMMA FINALLY MET HER PARENTS SNOW WHITE AND PRINCE CHARMING AND WHEN HENRY SAID GRANDPA TO PRINCE CHARMING.
my name is raina. how can you pick your fave moment, there are so many good ones. 9/30 episode was intense. will fantasy people kill mary margret and emma? i cant wait to see the next one.
Lol.
Shelly: That part struck me as so weird. And I hated that Emma didn't even look happy. She looked like she half hated her mother... But it's really not Snow's fault.
Emma: (love the name. :D ) I don't remember that part?
Raina: They won't. Let's be realistic... If they killed Emma or Snow, would there even be a show? I'm pretty sure they start teaming up.

your probably right. im worried that they woud run out of farytales. btw you remember season 2 episode 1, after the soul sucker got prince phillipe there was a torch on the grass. wouldnt the grass catch on fire
Que pasa, Dani? I won't be able to practice with you tonight... Unless you want to stay up late. Email me.
SNOW WHITE, PRINCE CHARMING, MR. GOLD, AND EMMA ARE MY FAVORITES. I DON'T LIKE THE EVIL QUEEN REGINA. SHE WANTS EVERYONE UNHAPPY AND HAPPY HERSELF.
Hm, actually, my favorite is probably Snow White of the fairy tale world, Jefferson, or Regina. Rumple would be on that list... but sometimes he's TOO creepy.
Emma annoys me. She's so selfish, so concerned on how much her life sucks that she sometimes forgets to look around her and help others.

I'M GLAD THE SPELL IS BROKEN AND EVERYBODY KNOW WHO THEY ARE AGAIN. SNOW WHITE IS WITH HER DAUGHTER AND THEY CAN GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER. PRINCE CHARMING IS STUCK IN THE REAL WORLD WITH HENRY. I HOPE THEY FIND EACH OTHER AGAIN.
Okay.... Shelly. Cool it with the caps. Type normal. Please?
But yes. I'm glad the spell is broken, but if you go outside the city limits, you forget yourself all over again.... Did you see the preview?

That makes sense. Actually... she's probably the most human heroine I've ever seen/read, now that I think about it. All heroines are so ready to take the job in the books I read... yet, Emma isn't at all, not personality wise or mentally.
Hi. I am Debbie. I was actually captured by the show last season online. I was bed bound after a surgery and watch every episode! I could not get enough! I love lil Henry! Regina is gorgeous and I love the stylistic choices made for her. I wonder how Bael will come in and to see Mr Gold 's reactions to that!
Hey, Debbie! Did you watch the newest episode? We're thinking that the guy you saw in the beginning was Baelfire. And... If I were Bael, I might hate Mr. Gold right now.
Hi, I am Katie and I really can't say my favorite part... It's all too good to have one best for me...
Hey, Katie. Glad you found the group! I get what you mean by no favorite parts.
Hey... On a side note how did you all find this group?

Hi, um... you told me about it and I saw a OUAT group and looked at it, and then I saw you were in it so I joined. :)

Hey peeps, I'm Siareen, and I really do like this show enough in order to look past its horribly mushy gushy and over dramatic bits that it sadly has very often :)
For me, it's Rumple through and through. He was a favorite fairy tale of mine for a while, and I love every moment with him on screen.
My favorite parts of the show are his banters with Regina, which are usually epic.
One of my favorite episodes is the Mad Hatter one. Jefferson's crazy look with the hats gives me chills :P
My least favorite episode is "Dreamy". Just thinking about it makes me shudder. It's as if the producers took all the things I DONT like about 'Once' and put them in one episode...
I can't say I really liked the finale of season 1 either, but the episodes so far of season 2 are amazing, so I'm overlooking that :)
Anyway, I think I've gone on enough for now :)
See you in the discussions!

I don't think there is any fear there. For one thing, the writers are VERY flexible with the term "Fairy Tale".
In case you didn't know, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and Mulan all happen to not be fairy tales, yet they have all made [or will make] an appearance.
On the other hand, there are so many less known fairy tales that the writers could be making use of, which they aren't.
In fact, you should probably be worried that they run out of Disney movies, because so far every single character [except for Rumpelstiltskin, but he's pretty well known anyway] is from a Disney movie.

You have a point there Sia... Come to think of it...I'd like to see a more obscure fairy tale. Yet, people won't get as much fun out of watching it, if they don't know the fairy tale. The producers aren't just creating a show, they're marketing towards the populace.

Obviously that's the reason. The show relies heavily of people knowing the original stories, and realizing and appreciating the twists. The show wouldn't work without that.
But for instance they could start using more well known stories that aren't Disney movies [Thumbelina, The Princess and the Pea, to name a few.] And if they've moved to classics too, can't they also use other classics that haven't been Disneyfied? [Wizard of Oz, Oliver Twist]
What I'm trying to say is, I have less of a problem with the fact that they are using well known fairy tales and more of a problem with them using just Disney stories.
Using unknown tales wouldn't work at all. Take Grimm for example. No one has any clue what stories they are using, except maybe the well read fairy tale scholars.

Hello my name is Keira and I am a huge fan of this series. I am so glad I found this group. Everyone that I watch the show with says to stop trying to guess and analyze the show. I think that is the point to watching a show... Anyway, I love the episode with red riding hood, I think that was a great twist.

Hey Siareen, they are introducing more worlds, (spoiler) Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Welcome :)
So basically, they've moved away even from Disney and are going to classic literature as well... accoriding to the writers: "The only reason Chewbaka isn't going to show up is because he's under copyright."
So anyone might show up. Each story ever told might be a different world.
There's one thing I'm curious about- Rumple told Jefferson that his hat only connects lands without magic, right?
And it's made very clear to us that Dr. Frankenstine's world doesn't have any magic in it, only science, no?
So how did Jefferson's hat take him there?

Goshness.... Dr. Frankenstein's world doesn't necessarily not have magic. He simply refuses to believe in it.
the Frankenstein episode was freaky!!!!!!!
Hi, Anna! (You're new, right?)
I quite liked the Frankenstein episode, honestly. I love Regina's character. She's so real. And this episode showed more of her real side than ever before.

Hi my name is Michele and I am obsessed with once upon a time. I have a group called Erudite Readers if anyone is interested. I'm so excited to be able to discuss OUAT with you guys!
Klymy, let's not destroy people's fantasy crushes on celebrities. I know you have some... ;)For all that are new, and do not know:
Klymy and I just might, might, be related somehow... :)
Hi Klymene and Danica!Haha he is married! I don't really like him- it's an inside joke with a friend and it kind of just stuck the name.
Whew. Okay. I get it now. That's fine. (Dani, I'm a realist. Let me point out that none of the 1D boys are married. Dating doesn't count.)
Hello ... I'm Rikki ... I hope that we will discuss ... Unfortunately in my country are still not showing season 2, but coming ... :)
No Spamming, Rikki. I've deleted your comment. I suppose we have to make the rules more clear....
and Hi guys! so yeah introducing myself...My name's Cherubim Cassandra Paula, you guys can call me Cass...and I'm basically the Evil Queen. haha or well, some friends fondly call me that...Regina's backstory is so so so me. and I'm a bit of Ruby too...:>
Hey, Cass... would you mind telling us where your name came from? It's so unique.
You'll have to explain how Regina's backstory is basically you, when you're comfortable with it. You've made me awfully curious now.

Thanks Klymene! :) Well, Cherubim is an angel, Cassandra is a Greek Prophetess of bad luck haha and Paula means little/dear one :)thus, such conflicting personalities..lol
Let's see...Regina is me because let's just say that my mom is such a...Cora. ouch, but yeah most times :)
Cherubim Cassandra Paula wrote: "Rikki wrote: "Hi, Cass. I wanted my friend here. awww thankyou :)"
Nothing...:)
Cassandra was always my absolute favorite mere mortal from Greek mythology (Percy Jackson series aside, because I adore Zoe Nightshade). Fascinating name, by the way.
It seems like it takes a lot for you to say that your mom is like Cora. Have you watched the last episode? Maybe your view point will change then.

For starters, I'm Klymene. And I think my favorite moment was... when Rumpelstiltskin saw Bell again in the real world. Sorry if I just spoiled something...
