This year marks the 30th anniversary of Banned Books Week. This week is huge for librarians in particular because we believe in free access to information for everyone.

The American Library Association has a great site with information about books that have been challenged or banned over the years.

Tell us your favorite challenged book!

My favorite challenged book is To Kill a Mockingbird. But I have to say that my all time favorite challenged author is Judy Blume . I grew up on her books and actually re-read quite a few of them a couple of years ago. She is one of my heroes.

Angelique My favorite challenged book is 1984 by George Orwell. I have to agree, though that I loved some Judy Blume growing up and I still own several of them in my personal collection.

Shannon Lovejoy (smlovejoy) | 43 comments One of my absolute favorite books ever is To Kill a Mockingbird. I also love Judy Blume. I don't know what happened to my copies of her books from my childhood but I buy them as I see them in used book stores for my personal library. I recently found a used copy of Animal Farm that I bought and will reread soon.
