My goal for this weekend is to read 750 pages between tonight and Monday night. It's a bit of a long shot, but it would help me get caught up a little for the challenge. I also have a book on take, South of Broad, that I plan on listening to while I am doing some organization projects.

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments I would like to read the third book in the Time Odyssey series this weekend. It's about 300 pages, so even if I don't read AT ALL Saturday or Sunday (though I am hoping for a least a few snatches of time to myself) I should be able to finish it on Monday.

Joy | 1116 comments My goals are:
1)read 100 pages in Atlas Shrugged
2)Read Fudge Cupcake Murder
3) Start Changes (Get about 20 pages in)
4) Read about 30 pages in Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits, and Haunted Places
And maybe
5) Read 20 pages in Don Quixote

That's only a total of about 520 pages...so not too ambitious, but just ambitious enough! =)
I have 4 days to do it, right? My hubby is off Fri-Mon. Or just 3?

I read 48 pages in Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James

I'm headed to the gym now for a couple of hours with a friend. When I get back I hope to get a little bit more reading sneaked in before dinner!

Total so far: 68 pages

Did I realy say my goal was 750? Yikes!

message 14: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Just started Firstborn and it felt longer than 300 pages so I double checked. Turns out the GR page was wrong; the HC is actually 364. Should still be doable.

Also I'm on my phone so hopefully this post turns out alright. It'd be nice if they added groups to the mobile version of the site.

I was really hoping to get more reading done today, looks like I won't be making my 750 page goal!

Today I read Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo and The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer

I also listened to 2 discs of South of Broad by Pat Conroy

Total: 114 pages and 2 CD's

I had planned on doing the most of my reading today but we had unxpected company. So instead of reading I was busy cooking, entertaining, and talking. I did manage to read some more of Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James

My total pages is now: 164

Thanks Joy! I think my original goal was way off!...hahah I wish more people had joined in but it has been really fun with just the three of us as well. I read way more than I would have on a regular weekend and I still have tomorrow!

message 23: by Charleen (new)

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Saturday I got to page 49. Sunday I made it only to page 72. I have just under 300 pages to read today if I'm going to finish this book! But I've got nothing else on the agenda so I think I can still get it done.

Also, this is book #75, so once I finish this, I am done for the year! (Okay, not really DONE...)

Joy | 1116 comments I was gonna post this last night, but was tired, and forgot. It's now Tuesday morning here. I got 445 pages in! I finished three of my goals

1- read 100 pages in Atlas Shrugged (actually got about 30 more in on that one)
2- read all of Fudge Cupcake Murder
3- read 20 pages in Don Quixote

And I have no idea HOW I did it! LOL....between pacifying the two babies in my life (hubby and child lol) PLUS! I was also in a Stitch-A-Long this weekend with a needlework friend and got about 3 hours of work on on that project! I'd say I had a productive weekend!

Charleen (charleenlynette) | 1688 comments Phew! Did it! Only one day to devote to the readathon, and not only did I read nearly 300 pages, but I finished my 75 for the year! Huzzah!

Woohooo awesome job Charleen! I'm so glad that you got to do this with us. Maybe next time we will have a bigger group.

I have to add up my pages before I go to bed. I've been cleaning and organizing all day but I think I might just make it to 400 pages, I was really hoping for 500 after I knew I would not make 750 but that's okay. I still got a ton of reading done and had fun.

Either way, it's more than you would have done with out the challenge, right?

Exactly!

My subtotal is 349 pages! I have two hours left to read so it would be nice if I could make it to an even 400 but I'm not sure if my eyes will be in on that plan...hahah
