Shut Up & Read discussion

Starting this Monday! How many chapters a day Leigh? I'm thinking 3...they look like long chapters and 3 would be roughly 70-80 pages.

Sounds good. I have a busy week so I think that will be plenty.

I didn't get my reading done today, but I will have time to catch up tomorrow morning.

We are so in the same boat. I read to page 40. I will post later.

I started but didn't get as far as I wanted. I don't know if I'll have time tonight to read more or not :(

I am on Chapter 3 now. This is not going to be a good week I see.

That's where I stopped too so at least we're in the same place :)

So here are my thoughts so far...I'm not really feeling either of the characters. I'm already tired of the "I'm scared of losing you" crap, but it has really good reviews so it has to get better, right? I don't hate it...I'm not far enough into it for that, but I'm not loving it either.

I agree. I feel myself comparing it to Beautiful Disaster. Not really a fair comparsion but that where my mind went as I read.

I am ready for it to get better.

I am not feeling this book!! I don't know what is wrong with me. Julia and Ryan finally have their intimate moment where she looses her virginity that she has saved for him. I felt nothing! Am I a terrible person? What are you feeling?

Lol! I'm feeling the same. Like I said, I don't necessarily hate it, I just don't love it like I would like to. Why are all the girls in books virgins and the guys never are?

I think I'm waiting for someone to get shot or cancer. Something else to happen besides unbelievable sex. As far as the virgin issue, I think it is over used in books. If it is a big deal for the women why isn't it for the men?

I know. It's like the only thing that sells is innocent virgin vs. bad boy. I don't get it.

I'm so far behind on this one. It's been a busy week. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up tomorrow night.

I'm on page 137. I just want to finish the book and move on. For Real!!!

Maybe this book is just too romantic for me and there is not enough angst or something, but I just don't feel anything for them.

I want to like it because it is a sweet story. I just don't. There really isn't much story. When they are together they are having sex. When they aren't together they are whinning about being apart.

Where is Ryan getting his money? I know his dad is a doctor so I guess he is bank rolling him.

I finally finished and of course it ends with a cliff hanger. I don't know what to rate this.

I already knew about the cliffhanger...I read some reviews yesterday to try to figure out what I've been missing lol! I'm not finished yet but have been thinking it's going to be 3 stars for me to.

Out of the ones above I would say Die For Me. A couple of them are second in series and I haven't read the first...

I've been wanting to read Eternal Rider forever, so we could do that once you get it. I own that one.

Have you gotten to the fifth Dresden File book? I'm on the waiting list still for that one.

You want to start Die For Me Monday? I am fourth on the waiting list for Eternal Rider. I have to get the ebook for Death Masks because there is no audio. I wish they would make audios for the rest of the series.

I am still on the waiting list for Bitterblue. I almost bought Immortal Rules. It was in my hand then I looked at the price and I had to put it back.

Monday sounds good.

I can get the audio for Death Masks but have to read the rest after that.

I still haven't finished The Future of Our Past. I was asked to work today so I did, and it's been super busy...yuck. I'll still be working for a couple more hours. Guess I should get off GR :)

Have fun at work! Enjoy the rest of the book. We just got back from a family reunion. It was nice seeing family members we haven't see in years.
