Has anyone been watching this? What are your thoughts?

So I feel like a total dork, but what is it exactly?

I can't help but like it. The fact that it's a post-apocalyptic story and it ISN'T another reality show is good enough for me.

Yeah, I think it has potential. But I'm cautious about getting too involved with any new show. It seems that most of the weird or off-beat shows that have tried to take the place of "Lost" have lasted only one season.

I am afraid to watch this show based on the previews and ads promoting it. I am a huge fan of the book series it is "loosely based on", the Emeberverse series by S. M. Sterling. The show seems to be too much a bastardization of the original series, I can't imagine I will like it.

I had no idea that it was based on a series of books. I have to agree that it is usually a bad thing when one has read and enjoyed the books.

The only thing worse is when they do a "reimagining" of an old TV series, like they did several years back with The Night Stalker. That totally blew.

I tried to watch "the Dresden Files" both before and after reading the books and in that case found the TV series equally unwatchable. The first time cause I didn't think it was that good and afterwards because they had wondered so far from the source material (and it hadn't gotten any better either)

I've heard about this, and I've wanted to watch it, but I keep forgetting! I want to try it.
