Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Saw posts on goodreads author profiles Jim C. Hines and A.C. Crispin regarding publisher who has not been paying their authors' royalties six months to a year. Not requoting, just check out the posts and links for yourself. Unreal; particularly with the possibility of self-publishing and how well-tracked ebook sales are via big sellers like amazon, the credit card companies, etc. (I know Jim's book is BOTM for October but did not want to post in that thread and hijack it with something off topic).

Ms. Crispin may be more familiar to some of us from Star Trek Spock/Vulcan novels; not exactly an unknown.

In case they post more overwriting, direct link to her post is http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...

Martha (tilla) | 194 comments Publishers who don't pay their authors will soon have no authors to pay. Or one can at least hope so

Jute There is an update

Jim's Update

Lindsey | 124 comments That's awful. I enjoyed her Star Wars work. I hope that the publisher is sincere in getting her accounts up to date.

Michael Stackpole wrote a coherent breakdown of the accounting of publishing here, arguing in favor of direct ebook sales from authors. I find it a useful reference at times and thought someone else might, too.

J.D. Hallowell From Robin Sullivan's comments on Jim's update, it looks like this has been completely resolved now.

I don't know that it's been 'completely resolved' until all the authors who haven't been paid receive their money.

Do we have a list of who is still owed money?

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Well, don't know about other authors but Ms. Crispin posts today that the royalties are now paid, all ebooks sales transferred back to her (except currently ibooks which is in progress). Hurray for the public outcry I guess; but, it's still a nasty mess and hard enough for authors to get published, on book shelves, etc. -- her post at http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...

I would like to see the big ebook sellers (amazon, ibooks, bn, etc.) send royalty payments directly to authors as well as whatever payments they make to the publishers.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Still don't know about all authors involved. But happy for Ms. Crispin and happy to see new Starbridge releases coming out.

Maybe some SFWA Writers Beware activity coming up unless Ridan is currently making satisfactory efforts to resolve for all their authors?
