Hi Theo! It's me WHO (aka Diane). For anyone else who doesn't know me from Amazon, I live alone and go all over the place to different conventions where I can dress up. Just got back from a big Jane Austen weekend - next up, a Doctor Who convention in Orlando in teh beginning of Nov.
Hi Who! I figured out who (haha) you were. Cool on the conventions. Is it just book conventions or other type conventions?
i used to love dressing up in clothes from the early 1900's when I was a kid. I always felt that I should have been born when balls were common. I think you saw that I posted on Amazon that I have never read a Jane Austen book. I thought I had, but apparently I just watched the movie Sense and Sensibility.

Well then you should read one. I mostly just do Jane Austen, Doctor Who and Harry Potter (but never been to a HP convention)
Cool. I love HP. Can't say that I've read Doctor Who either. I've read a lot of classics, just not as many as I like. I think I have JA on my to read list now.

Hiya! I finally decided to check this out on the computer, instead of my phone, so here I go. Mom of a crazy five year old boy (I'll call him the kid), who loves anything to do with reading and learning. Wife to a man that only reads political internet news articles and the SportsCenter scrolling bar. Me? I cant remember the last time I finished a book, until Fifty Shades in May. Since then, I've read 9 books (and finished them all). So I'm here, I've determined that reading is (finally) relaxing and enjoying, not just something I have to do for a class. But, to broaden my horizons, I joined this to advance from smut and books about teenagers killing each other :)
(I think I may have two smut books left... the 2nd in the series just came out, so naturally, I have to get it. And the third in January!)
And, I know Tiff is real life, our husbands grew up in the same neighborhood. I caught the bouquet at her wedding! :)
Oops, signed up for this then never noticed when conversations started, lol.I'm Denise-the-aforementioned. In addition to rooting for the same baseball team, Theo and I also gave our daughters the same name.
I love reading, have read a lot, expect to read a lot in the future. My first grandchild showed up this past February and while I don't get to see him often enough, he does live near enough by that he certainly knows us!
I have a sweet and often infuriating hubby, and an assortment of pets. I also have lupus, but we try to treat that as the unwanted stepchild. Our actual stepchildren (one daughter each) are delightful and cherished.

I threw the bouquet at you :D
Reading is good!

Hi! I'm Lenora. I live in central Florida. I live by myself. I teach first grade and have a challenging class this year. I LOVE to read. Passing on my love of reading is one of the best gifts I can give to my students. :) Reading has been my primary source of entertainment for many years. I just joined the group today. I've never been overly excited about the classics, but am willing to try Athens Scarlet Pimpernel.
Hi, I thought as part of my new "keep track of my reading" I'd use goodreads more, so this seems like a good way to start. I also know some of you from Amazon, where I go by something with Northern Lights in it, too - I live in Norway with my family (husband and three boys ages 2-8 plus a lovely old dog), work full time and all of this is seriously cutting into my reading time... Kindle certainly counts as one of the best things to ever happen to me, as I can now travel without five or more books in my handbag;-)
