Please post cool things here. No really. I am stinking hot here. Post about ice and lovely, lovely clear water....... mmmmmmmm.


Sorry about that. I'm going crazy in this heat. It's 39 degrees C every day. Hot dry wind. Doesn't cool down at all until the wind hits about 4am. It's 6pm and still 30 degrees. See below for conversion. It's hotter than those thermometers are showing.



The airconditioners in the unit I'm staying in can't cope with hot weather. They're just pumping warm air. Where I'm going tomorrow is hotter. And more remote.

What I wouldn't give for a really good air conditioner right now. Or walk-in freezer. Sigh.

I'm off to have a cold shower......

I got to Mornington Island to find out that the whole southern part of Australia was getting snowed on!! That NEVER happens. Unbelievable!

Still, Mornington Island turned out to be a lot cooler due to a very strong wind. In fact, it was kind of like constantly being in a blender filled with salty roaring sea air and wave noise. It was an oddly claustrophobic sensation. Gorgeous, gorgeous place though.

I also was warned in all seriousness to be careful of flying coconuts. For real.
