Mike, Mason, and Chan rushed to the accident scene. "Guys, walk back," the officer said.
"That's my boyfriend!" Mason yelled, pushing past the officer.
"We're gathered here today friends," the pastor said, "to celebrate the life of a great individual, Andy."Mason looked at Marissa. "Can we- can we have a tribute week to him?"
"Honey.... You don't even have to ask." She whispered. She looked on the verge of tears, she had been since the accident she blamed herself
"Now, I would like to invite Andy's glee coach, Jake Renyolds to come up, and say a few words," the pastor said, looking at Jake.Jake stood up, and walked to the podium.
"I remember the first day that I met Andy," Jake said. "It was for Glee club auditions. He was singing 'Can't Hold Us,' and rocked the house. Him and I had our differences, and it didn't matter. I still loved him. I was there for him, and he was there for me. I will never forget Andrew Jenkins." Jake looked at Andy's parents. "Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins, you raised an amazing child. I've asked Mike, Chan, and Max, if he's here, to join me in song."
Mike and Chan came up to the stage. Max ran into the church. "I'm here, I'm here."
They all got on the stage, and started singing, "Stay With Me," by R5.
Mason finally went up to say his piece. He let out a deep shuddering breath. "Okay. I'm going to start with a little story. I found out I was gay when I was 12 years old. I started falling head over heels for my best friend, Dillon. Turns out, Dillon was as queer as a three dollar bill."
That got some laughs out of the crowd.
"I lost my virginity to Dillon when I was 14. It was the scariest and best thing I had ever done. Three weeks after that, Dillon's father went AWOL, and sent Dillon to the hospital, only to have Dillon die two days later."
Jake looked at Marissa. He had no idea what this had happened.
"I loved Dillon. Then Mike and I move to Lima, Ohio; home to the William Mckinley High New Directions. I never thought I could sing until I tried out. Trying out was the second scariest thing that I had ever done, and I made it through. It was there I met Andy, the gay boy from New York. I thought I was head over heels for Dillon, but boy, was I wrong. I loved Andy, with everything in my heart. I had proposed to him a couple weeks prior to what had been going on. We had the wedding planned for this summer.
"No, I'm not not going to ever fall in love. But, Andy did teach me something. Live life to the fullest. I will do that, and I will find me a husband who is amazing, but Andy and Dillon will never leave my mind. Thank you."
Marissa gripped Jake's hand tears sliding down her face. She hid against his shoulder an arm wrapped protectively around Faith "never leave me." She begged
"Not again," Jake whispered. "Thanks, everyone," the pastor said.
They went out to the courtyard of the church.
"Okay, Monday, come prepared with a tribute to Andy song," Jake told everyone.
Max raised his hand. "Can I go?"
Jake nodded.
"So sorry for your loss," a voice said behind the crew.
Jake turned around to see who it was.
"Greg.
Marissa paled and ran off hand over her mouth Katie close behind."Daddy who that?" Faith asked sleepily
"What the hell are you doing here?" Jake asked."Oh, didn't you hear?" Greg asked. "I'm the new principal at McKinley."
Jake looked behind him. Katie was trying to get his attention."You aren't getting away with this," Jake growled, before walking away.
"She collapsed." Katie said softly "she's okay but I think you should get her home. I'll take Faith for the not."
She gently got Faith and walked over to Mike "hey.... Wanna stay the night?" She asked "I don't want to be alone tonight." Katie whispered
