After the thousand years of being hidden away from the world and long forgotten to mostly all Elementalists that exist today, the Great Crystal--the source and origin of all the Elements and their powers--has hidden itself away in the unknown cave system that exists below the ground, inside the world. It is located within the heart of the central caves, directly underneath the now barren wasteland that was the central forest.

"Ah!" *Steven fell through the hole in the ground and fell for a few seconds before landing on his back, hitting the ground hard* "Ugh!" *He grunted, then moaned and slowly moved to stand up* "Damn it..."

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) "AAHHH!!" Elli landed on her feet and thanks to some gymnastics trained crumpled and rolled so as not to brake her legs. There was a slight twang in her knee and she hoped desperatly she had not sprained it. It was pitch black and the rock was cold against her skin. She lay on her back breathing hard and not daring to move. "Stephen?" she asked softly.

(( Sorry, I've been busy... ))
"Ugh. I'm here." *Steven held his hand out in front of him a ways, his palm faced up, and created a small flame so-as to shine a bit of light in the area, then started walking over to Elli* "Are you alright?" *He stopped overtop of her and reached his other hand down to her to help her up*
(( We're not right at the crystal and Steven's flame doesn't glow that bright right now, so don't notice it just yet. ))

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) ((np, I know how it goes :D))

Elli grabbed his hand and used it to pull herself up. Her leg was sore but it wasn't harmed too badly. She favored it slightly but that was just for cautions sake. "Where are we?" she asked trying to pear into the darkness around them.

(( Sorry, I had to go pick up my brother. ))
*Steven looked around, keeping his flame near him and Elli near him so-as not to lose her* "I don't know..." *He paused for a moment* "I've never seen this place before..." *He kept his eyes fixed keenly on what bit of his surroundings he could see* "Something's odd about this place..."
(( Sorry, watching TV. ))

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) ((Np, Brothers are awesome I should hate to lose mine :D))

Elli's eyes were adjusting to the light, but nothing could be seen outside the little flame of light Stephen was giving off. Elli reached for the air, for the outside wind and could not find any. She felt her chest tighten and reached for her inhaler only to find it had fallen out of her pocket somehow. Oh no! A very worried look came across her face as she tried to control her breathing.

*Steven continued to look around, then looked at Elli as he heard her breathing start to wheeze and become irregular and immediately moved to her and placed his hand on her back* "Are you alright?! Calm down! Just breathe!"

"Im...i'm sorry...." Elli gasp. There was nothing for it but hope it would pass soon. She knelt on the ground and put her arms around herself, rocking gently. Her brother had rocked her the first time she had an attack and the motion still soothed her. She steyed that was for about ten minutes, fighting to regain control of herself and thinking relaxing things, before finally calming down.

(( Alright, I'll wait. :P And you passed time. :| ))
*Steven stood watching her, making sure she was ok before finally watching her settle and continuing to look around, trying to get his bearings as to where he was* "Hang on; I'm going to try to give us a little bit more light." *He knelt down and slowly moved his hand down toward the ground, hoping the ground wasn't combustable, and set his flame on the ground and, seeing that it wasn't going to blow up the whole place, moved it around to form a circle around them, sheding more light in the area and offering them some protection from whatever may lurk in the area, revealing it to be some sort of cave or cavern that stretched for a great length before twisting and winding and splitting into multiple tunnels that seemed to span farther than the eye could see* "Hmm..." *He paused for a moment* "I never knew these caves existed..." *He started to walk around the perimeter of the circle, examining the walls* "I wonder who or what built it?"

"Could the elders that made peace have constructed it? Most lilky some of the earth clan." Elli said sitting down. She watched him, taking it easy herself and trying to remain positive. She would get out. The outside was still there. But she was already feeling the effects of being disconected from the sky.

(( Usually you don't, but that's fine. And I'll be back in about 10 minutes after this post. ))
"I doubt it. They wouldn't have such need or use for it. I also think that these caves are much too new to to be two millenia old. I'd say that these caves are roughly five-hundred years old, based on what I can tell by the condition of the stone. I also think that, if we were swallowed into it from the desert above, it would be very doubtful that any Elementalist could've made these caves, as we're a good hundred feet below the surface by my estimate, which means that we must've passed out either during or after the fall. I have no idea how long we would've been out, though. The only reason we're not dead or seriously wounded, though, can only be left to speculation, as I have no explination for our survival..." *Steven paused for a moment* "Unless we are dead and we're no longer amonst the living, but I highly doubt that, too. If that were the case, I doubt I'd still have my power. It seems to me as though some other kind of force has pulled us down here and did something to both knock us both out and keep us both alive." *He paused again* "And the only thing I could think of that could possibly do that would be the Great Crystal, itself. However...I don't know why it would have any reason to do such a thing. Especially to someone like me..."

message 14: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli very much disliked the idea of being dead. This was not at all how sh eimagined it and she hope fervently that was not what had happened. But she remembered landing, so any passing out would have had to been done while they were falling. "Maybe it wants you for something." Elli prompted. If the Crystal let them through then it must need or want them for something. She prayed it wasn't anything nasty.

(( I'm back. ))
"Hmm..." *Steven sighed* "Let's go. We shouldn't linger in one place too long. Even I don't know what's down here, and I don't think any good can come from resting here for a long while. We should get moving as soon as possible so that we may find a way out of here. The fact that this area is void of light must mean that we're nowhere near an exit point, so we should stay close and try not to get separated or lost until we find an exit area." *He paused for a moment* "As for the Great Crystal wanting something to do with me...I'm pretty sure all it wants of me is for me to be dead, so that nothing like what happened in the last great battle of the Elemental War happens ever again..." *He walked over to Elli and offered her his hand to help her up again* *Come on...we need to go."

message 16: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli took his hand again, and again pulled herself upright. Okay, act your age. 20 remember, deep breath. Okay world here I come. Elli gave herself a quick little pet talk, she was not going to let anything else phase her today. "Okay. Lead on." Elli was sure to stay very close to Stephen, if she got lost sh emost lilky would simply die from fright long before anything else could happen.

"Alright, then." *Steven turned around and gathered up his flame back into the palm of his hand and started walking down the tunnel, then stopped and turned around as a blast of heat filled the air in the tunnel and a bright orange glow shone on the wall down the other end of the tunnel, and cocked his head slightly* "Oh, jeeze." *He grabbed Elli's hand and quickly turned around and pulled her along, running quickly down the tunnel away from the oncoming Fire, and shouted* "You see? I told you lingering around too long wasn't a good idea!" *He looked over his shoulder as the Fire became visible and was rushing down the tunnel after them, then looked back ahead and searched frantically for an exit or a secondary tunnel to turn into*

message 18: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli's grey blue eyes grew wide with terror. Oh no not fire again! She kept a tight grip of Stevens hand and ran as fast as she could. There was smoke coming up the tunnel and Elli started to cough. "Wha....*cough cough* is it?!"

Sage of Souls (sageofsouls) | 850 comments Mod
"I don't know, but just keep moving!" *Steven continued to search frantically for an exit point and saw one off to the left a ways down and raced toward it, then veered off into it, pulling Elli with him through the second tunnel as he ran down it, desperately hoping to get out of the caves before they were burned alive, and saw a faint white glow at the end of the tunnel* That can't possibly be the exit... The color of the light is too bright to be coming from the sun or fire or any other source of light that I know of... I hope we're not running into a trap...

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) ((Sorry sageofsouls, I have been really sick and unable to get out of bed. I'm better now and will be on a lot more.))

"Light!" Elli yelled hope filling her voice. Outside! Clean air She could almost feel the wind on her face. She picked up her pace, she had to get out, out into the sun. But the closer they got the more Elli noticed it didn't seem to be the sun. "What is it?" She asked again.

(( It's ok. I hope you feel better soon. ))
*Steven continued down the tunnel, moving at a full sprint, pulling Elli with him, and stopped as he entered a large, dark, hallow room, then turned around to see the Fire still rushing at them then held his arm up to attempt to stop the Fire, then the Fire stopped on its own at the entrance to the room, blocking their escape in that direction, but was no longer coming at them, then he slowly lowered his hand, confused as to why and how the Fire stopped before sighing and slowly turning around, keeping the corner of the eye of his mask fixed on the Fire, then faced toward the center of the room, keeping his guard up in case the Fire started rushing toward them again, and started walking toward the center of the room, pulling Elli with him, keeping his flame low, so-as not to attract any living creatures in the cave before stopping and gasping slowly, gazing up at a large, silver object floating in the center of the room, the essence of the four Elements swirling around it dimly, then watched as he saw the other three exits in sight got cut off by a form of the other three Elements, blocking all of their exits, before a strong wind blew out his flames and a new fire spawned on spikes that stuck out from the walls as if they were torches, lighting the room and offering a better sight of the great structure, and remained silent for a moment before speaking* "That is the Great Crystal Arc. The Great Crystal lies within the center of that stone."

message 22: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli gasp in surprise and awe. The cavern was huge with great arches and a ceiling so high the tirches could hardly touch it, and righ tin the middle was a beautiful crstyle. Elli could feel the power of it like a massive wind pushing her down, yet at the same time filling her with a sense of presence lifting her up. What it was Elli could not tell but it was great. "Oh my gosh." For the first time in her life Elli could almost feel the other elements, the strong smell of earth, the gentle caresses of water and the bright heat of fire, tempered with the cool soft wind. She felt that if she truly tried she could have all four. She could not believe she had ever doubted the existance of the crystle. "You found it." she stated.

Sage of Souls (sageofsouls) | 850 comments Mod
"Rather it found us." *Steven let go of Elli and moved slowly and cautiously toward the arc* "I don't think this is a good sign." *He paused for a moment* "We need to breach the large structure in order to get to the Great Crystal. Doing that will not be easy." *He stopped as he felt the power of the four Elements surround him in a prison that enclosed him within Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, preventing him from doing anything other than moving inside of the shell* "Damn it!"

*The four essences of the four Elements swirled around the Great Crystal Arc a couple more times before decending toward the ground and forming into four great Elementals, towering over the prison that held Steven in his place*

*The Fire Elemental moved forward and spoke with a booming voice* "Steven Alexander--5th Guardian of the Elemental Crystal of Fire--you have come back to this sacred place of which you were banished from. You were banished because it was you who caused the great catastrophy that ravaged the land above and so you will remain banished for the same reason. But because you have returned here--to the land where you are no longer welcome, still bearing the ancient relic that was entrusted to you, your ancestors, and your decendents--you will be purged of your powers, removed as the guardian of the Elemental Crystal of Fire, and presented with your life as forfiet. You will pay for the crimes you have committed against this land by dying at the hands of the very same Element that you used to cause such devistation. This is your punishment, Steven Alexander: You will die by the Element of Fire in the very spot you stand."

message 24: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli stared open mouthed then slowly looked over at Stephen. He had caused the elemental war? Her mind was having trouble taking all that the fire was saying. Die? Stephen was going to die? What about me? How am I going to get out? "No!" Elli shouted "Wait he can't die! You can't just kill people!" She was forgetting that all power came from the crystal on the first place.

(( No, he didn't start the war, he caused the central forest to become a wasteland. XD ))
*Steven grunted, strugling against the prison that bound him in his spot, trying desperately to break free and escape with his life, but turned his attention to Elli and feared that he had greatly endanged her by bringing her with him and causing her to be in this situation down here with him, then shouted out* "Run, Elli! Don't worry about me! Just get out of here! Run through the Wind tunnel! You can push through it! You can find the exit and get out of here! You need to go! Now!"

*The Fire Elemental spoke, his voice booming through the chamber* "Silence! You have no right to speak anymore, Steven Alexander! Henceforth, you are no longer an Elementalist and are stripped of your rights to bear the Element of Fire. And so shall your life be stripped from you for the atrocities you have committed upon this land. Now die, Steven Alexander!" *It raised its hand above its head and began to form a large ball of Fire--one that would erupt upon contact and incinerate everything that was not protected by the power of the Great Crystal*

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) ((Can Elli actually save him? Or is Steven suppose to die?))

Elli looked around for this "wind tunnel" Steven was talking about, she thought she saw it, over to the right, but Steven was still in the same spot. Shouldn't he be trying to run or something. He could get out of the thing keeping him is place surely. It looked like some kind of jar had been placed on top of him but what it was made of exactly Elli could not tell. Then she saw the fire ball forming in the air. This was wrong, it was murder, whatever he had done Elli was sure it couldn't warent death. "Stop it!' she scream at smokey fire thing by the Crystal. "Please"

(( Steven's not going to die--that's for certain, but I'm still trying to figure out how he's going to escape. As for your post, though, can I ask you to edit a bit for logic's sake? 1. Steven can't go anywhere as he's trapped in a prison of the four Elements and that prison is obvious, so it's not like no one could tell (no offense in that). And 2. The being getting ready to kill Steven is not a man, but an Elemental: a being made completely of a particular Element--in this case, Fire. I'm sorry if asking this seems rude, but I just don't want to be posting a redundant response. :| ))

*The Fire Elemental finished forming its inferno blast* "This is the end of your time, Steven Alexander. Your life is now at its end." *He slammed the ball of Fire down at Steven, causing an eruption that spread the Fire throughout the chamber in a large inferno*

*Steven grunted and held his hands up to try to stop the attack, then the Elemental Crystal hidden in his attire began to glow a bright red and began to absorb the Fire that was spread around the room, as Steven struggled to hold off the Fire from incinerating him, but was begining to falter as the Elemental continued to push down upon him*
(( Just have Elli just dive underneath the flames or something; she's not going to get hit by the attack because the Elemental Crystal is going to try to protect them on the command of Steven's will, but there's still a large inferno that's formed and spreading Fire around the room. ))

The hot air that came before the fire shoved Elli to the ground and back out of he way of the fire. She got the impression that the crystal did not want to harm her, but how could that be? Did it truly know what it was doing? Could Steven really have done something so bad as to deserve death. Somehow it seem possible, steven had given Elli the idea he could get very upset and maybe things had just gotten out of control.

(( The Fire will harm her; it has nothing to do with the Great Crystal not wanting to harm her. In fact, I'm going to post in a moment that the Great Crystal wants her dead for being in that sacred place, since it's supposed to remain hidden. ))
*Steven continued to fight against the power of the Fire Elemental, struggling and beginning to fail to prevent the attack from from completely destroying him* "Damn it..." *The Elemental Crystal continued to absorb the flames around the area, but was starting to dim as Steven's will began to fail and the power of the Elemental Crystal began to become completely used up*

*Steven began to feel weak as he held back the attack, then began to go limp as his eyes began to close slowly as his will faded out and collapsed as the large ball of Fire struck down upon him, then the Elemental Crystal shined even through the Fire and absorbed the blast and the rest of the Fire, revealing Steven lying unharmed on the ground and the Elemental Crystal now outside of his attire, dimming rappidly until it returned to its near-faded state*

*The Fire Elemental stood back a bit and examined Steven and the Elemental Crystal, then looked back at the other three Elementals and nodded, then turned their attention to the girl that was crawling away from them* "You, girl. You do not belong here. Though it may not have been your choice, you are still inside of a great and sacred chamber that no mortal should ever see. For that, you, too, must perish, so that no other mortal may discover this place."

*The four Elementals began to move toward the girl*

*The Wind Elemental stepped forward and spoke, more in the tone of a female's voice than a males, like the Fire Elemental's* "I am sorry, my dear. But there is nothing we can do. We must follow our own laws, and they state that no mortal is allowed to lay eyes upon the Great Crystal or its arc, nor the four Elemental Lords and live to tell about it to other mortals so that they may try to come and desturb our rest. I am sorry." *It held out its hand and began to encase the girl in a vortex of high wind speeds, preventing her from moving and slowly cutting off the last bit of supply of oxygen she had left*

*The Wind Elemental spoke with somewhat of remorse* "I am sorry, my dear." *It continued to deprive the girl from any oxygen left in the area around her*

*Steven moved slightly, then sat up sharply and jumped up when he saw Elli seeminging slowly dying from what he could guess what a lack of oxygen due to the vortex formed around her by the Air Elemental, then dashed toward her, pulling out his sword, and slashing through the vortex just enough to get him in and grab Elli, then quickly reversed his arm and slashed through the vortex on the other side, throwing Elli over his shoulder and dashing around the Great Crystal Arc to get away from the Elementals and grant them some cover so he could think for a few moments of what to do and how to escape*

*The Fire Elemental shouted over the noise of the winds as he saw Steven run through the vortex and rescue the girl* "Impossible!" *He watched as he ran around the Great Crystal Arc with her and began to move after him*

*Steven looked over his shoulder* "Damn it!" *He turned around and held out his hand to create a wall of Fire to slow the Elemental down, but nothing happened, then turned around and continued running and looked down at his palm, confused as to why he couldn't manipulate Fire anymore and worried that he wouldn't have any abilities anymore that would save him and Elli from this wretched place*

*The Fire Elemental continued after them, closing in on them at a moderate speed, unphased by the small gush of wind* "You cannot do anything, now, Steven Alexander! Your powers have been stripped from you and you will die, here and now, along with that pathetic mortal girl!" *It began charging another large ball of Fire in its hand*

*Steven reared around the arc, then jumped back as the other three Elementals (Wind, Water, & Earth) came into sight and readied himself to fight off whatever came at him, using only his sword and his speed, hoping he could figure a way out of here before he and Elli were killed*

*The four Elementals stood together, side-by-side, forming an arc around Steven and the girl, forming a barricade around to the wall, blocking any escape they could possibly have*

*The Fire Elemental spoke* "It is time for you to die, Steven Alexander. This sacred chamber will be your resting place for all eternity. And you, girl, will join him in his eternal damnation. The both of you will die, here and now." *It held up its inferno blast and began to charge it until it bordered becoming unstable*

*The other three Elementals (Wind, Water, & Earth) began to charge an attack of their own to lend to the Fire Elemental's power and form a massive Elemental Blast that would completely eradicate Steven and the girl*

*Steven searched around frantically and looked over at the tunnel that had strong winds blowing through it and out into the chamber, then looked over at Elli and spoke lowly and quickly to her, keeping his eyes on the Elementals* "Do you think you could get us through that tunnel that's blocked by the Element of Air far enough to give us time to figure away out and enough distance to find a way to elude these Elements?"

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli snapped out of her daze, looking where he was pointing. It would be difficult to be sure, the air in here was hostile towards her, but she could only try, "If you can in anyway distract the them it would help." She focused on drawing the air up around them making it tingly like an on coming storm. In just a moment they would shoot through that tunnel as fast as she could make them go.

(( No updates... It didn't even say there was a new post on the hone page... -.- ))
*Steven nodded and stood in front of Elli* "Come on, then, you Elemental guardians! Let's just see if you can kill me!

*The four Elementals finished charging their blasts and slammed them down simultaneously at Steven*

*Steven quickly moved his sword in front of him and met the impact of the attack head-on and was quickly pushed down onto his knee by the force of the impact, but remaining focused, unfaultered, holding the attack in place with his sword, and looked up at the Elementals and chuckled weakly, smiling somewhat arrogantly* "My blade is made of adanantite; it's indestructible and it absorbs magic, so your powers won't be able to harm it. No matter how many times you keep bashing at me, as long as I can block them with this sword, you will never defeat me."

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Elli was stunned at the power surge in the room and at the power of Steven. She still couldn't believe he was a lost elder and this only added to the wonderment of it all. She brought herself back with a shake, they still needed to get out here. She made sure she knew where to go, took hold of Stevens sleeve gave and gave a tug to show she was ready. She made ready to run for the opening as soon as Steven made a move to go, once running the wind would shoot into the chamber hopefully knocking the elements off balance and carry Elli and Steven faster down the tunnel.
