Dennis slid into his seat just in time. He motioned for Miranda to sit with him. Dennis smiled, language arts he understood, but Spanish? No way!

Mrs. Dawner said,"Take out your books now, and once you have finished the chapter, begin writing your summary"

Dennis winked at Miranda. "I've already finished. My little cousin read it to me", he whispered.

"She's 12. She's like a genius in everything. She attends the school with her friends", Dennis smiles.

"Maybe... Probably not though. She's really shy", Dennis smiled, remembering when Taylor was too shy to talk to him.

"I guess... My cousin's name is Taylor. What's your sister's name?", Dennis asked, pretending to read his book when Mrs. Dawner glared at him.

"Kameron? Taylor mentioned her once or twice I think... When she was walking back home with me", Dennis mused and then he laughed softly saying,"I used to be jealous of Taylor. All our relatives dote on her, since she's like a genius and she's younger than me. But thanks for the compliment. I'll tell her"

"Can I tell you a secret?", whispered Dennis behind his book.

"I'm actually not that smart. I didn't understand the Pythagorean Theorem until Taylor explained it to me in 'English'. She's the real genius, here", Dennis said.

"I guess. That's why I try so hard. Because of Taylor. I want to impress her for once, it doesn't matter which side, the sporty or the genius. She's good at both. She plays ice hockey, jeez! I want to impress the family and her. I guess that's why I always answer questions", he mumbled.

"Oh. I'm sorry if I... if I made you feel uncomfortable", Dennis apologized.

Mrs. Yabu said,"Okay class! Class is going to end in 10 minutes. I want you to begin working on this worksheet on apostrophes. If you don't finish, the summary and the worksheet will be finished a homework tonight"

Dennis went up to get a worksheet for Miranda and himself.

"I haven't either... Hey, you want to come to the Mall for Ice Cream after I drop Taylor off after school? Elton might come", Dennis said as he began to work on the worksheet.

"Sure. But I'm warning you, you might get bored from Taylor's ramblings!", Dennis warns her. Then he turns to Elton. "Hey, Elton! Want to come to the Mall for Ice Cream?", he says.

"Sure!" said Elton excitedly, "What time?"

Emilie walked in the room and said, "Hey pair of lovers! Whats up"

"After I drop my cousin Taylor off at her house. Miranda's coming with us alright?", Dennis asked.

Dennis grinned and turned red. He stacked his books and got ready to leave.

"See you at the mall, Dennis!" said Elton.

"See you, Elton!", Dennis called. Then he turned to Miranda and said,"Come on, let's go to our lockers. What do you want to do for lunch?"
