Chris Booty (xfinalxliberationx) | 2 comments Wa salaam. One boook that's been very enlightening for me is Lantern of the Path by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq. Some of the metaphors in that book are absolutely beautiful.

You can get it online on al-islam.org, actually. I can't recommend it enough. Has anyone else read it here?

Hi Raja
I am very Persian Sufism. Rumi is an icon for me. Before that I have read the Quran many times and I like the message of tolerance in Sufism.

message 19: by J (new)

J Rush | 1 comments Fact is there are many good books both by Sufis and about Sufism. The latest I've read is an unusual and fascinating account of a Westerner who studied with an Afghan Sufi master called, "Embattled Saints." Highly recommend it.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

message 23: by SUHAIL (new)

SUHAIL KHAN (vagabundo) | 1 comments Assalamualaikum, welcome to the world of spirituality (Tasawwuf), Sufism is the internal way getting connected to the Almighty and it can only be achieved by surrendering the self and believing that every little thing in this world happens by the will of God.
Glad to be here with the wonderful people around.

Feeamanillah!

Hariz S. H. (harizmys) | 1 comments Assalamualaikum,, Peace to all brothers & sisters here.

I'm from Malaysia, Sufism book (in English) are rare here, therefore I only read few translated ones. I do hope someone can share some resources they found online.

I love the very existence of this group. Alhamdulillah :)

message 26: by Furkhanhaq (new)

Furkhanhaq | 1 comments Walaykumassalam dear Hariz please join Sufi litreture group on Facebook you can download hundreds of Sufi books in English.

message 27: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Salleh | 1 comments Assalamualaikum. I'm Natasha from Singapore. I read Rumi's Masnavi One and can't find a better book that best describes divine love that is liberating & fulfiling. The intoxication of divine love actually sobers you up about the trickery that is the worldly life. Of course, Rumi is more eloquent than I when he explains this with every verse. Looking forward to meeting other like-minded people who would be open to sharing their favourite Rumi poetry or other Sufi books - Hafiz perhaps?
