If you can't make it to tonight's meeting, feel free to add your comments about the book here. I'll give you guys some talking points that come up at the meeting tonight as well.
I was really impressed by the story of santiago , an old friend of mine (if I can say) ,after reading the old man and the sea a long time ago , I've met santiago again , and with his different stories ...I see my self through this novel.
It's a great book when I read it for the first time but when I thought about it after that... There are many flaws. The climax is not actually a climax. Santiago is really a god-like character and the journey seems to easy. In a way, Paulo is acting like a God in this book with all the helps from other characters to make Santiago a great character and the bad view of Islam.
not a book you just read or learn from, it is a life changing experience, just live with it and you will know what I'am talking about
