I'm actually really liking this book - i think it's even better than the first law trilogy itself. One of the reasons is that he seems to balance the heavier stuff with some lighter things that just make you grin when you read it. Cosca, Morveer and Day (I love Day!) just add a light touch to the storylines here.
Cosca my hero, ya gotta love those lines he pulls out. It makes this book, that role of Cosca.Bit flat on Vitari, not sure why she has been added to the group, she seems.......surplus to requirements.
I also think the scene with Jezal is pretty funny. He still has no idea that Terez is a lesbian! and he thinks he is brokering a peace conference! he is still attracted to girls with dark hair :)
"What happened?" "I believe 'bloodbath' is the appropriate term. And then everything caught fire."Paraphrasing due to audiobook, but this section was amazingly fun. When they were making the plan, there were so many things that were obviously going to go horribly wrong. I was delighted when things turned out far, *far* worse.
Eric wrote: ""What happened?" "I believe 'bloodbath' is the appropriate term. And then everything caught fire."Absolute carnage. And hilarious. "Apologize to my dice!"
And good old Cosca when everything has turned to custard "What makes you think I have the all the answers?"

We get to meet a lot of old friends here, too! Yay!
